For years, Fabolous has been known for collaborating with R&B artists. Early in his career, Fab was criticized for only making music for the female fans. When he tried to make an album for the streets, it was his lowest-selling album.

After his third album did not sell well, Fabolous took time off to switch labels. In 2006, DJ Clue landed a new deal with Def Jam, which saw Fab return with a new hit in 2007. For years, Fabolous had recorded with Mike Shorey and the two made two hits. But, in 2007, Fabolous recorded with Ne-Yo for "Make Me Better."

During the 2007 BET Awards, Fabolous and Ne-Yo said they would record an album together. But, things fell apart when Def Jam pushed Fabolous' Loso's Way album back. With all of the delays and changes, it has taken until 2011 for Fabolous and Ne-Yo to fully reunite. Back together, the two still intend to put out a collaboration album. Their first new project was a remix for Fab's hit, "You Be Killin' Em," which also features Ryan Leslie.

Following the positive response to the song, Fabolous decided to also work more with Leslie. Fabolous now wants to create a rap/R&B super group with Ne-Yo and Ryan Leslie. Due to their own hectic schedules, the two crooners are skeptical about putting together an album and becoming a complete group.
