Common and Serena Williams get close through injury

Earlier this year, Common broke up with his longtime girlfriend, tennis pro, Serena Williams. Despite the two having strong feelings for each other, they felt a relationship would not work for them. Williams is still dominating professional tennis, while Common is still mastering rap and branching out.

The bond the couple shares was not easily broken. Even though they were no longer dating, they still talked with each other. More than once, both Common and Serena have stated they are the best of friends with each other. It was only a matter of time before this led to something more.

Neither of them wanted to end the relationship, so it made it that much easier when they got back together. Forever the competitor, Serena Williams injured her foot during a match. To her rescue was the mastermind behind such hits as "The Light," "Come Close," and "I Want You." While she has been down, Serena Williams has been able to count on Common to be by her side.

This news has made waves because Common has yet to move on with another woman and Serena has yet to move on with another man. The door is wide open for another chapter in their relationship.

Years of rumors were confirmed by R&B superstar, Usher, when he made his appearance on VH1's "Behind the Music." In the late 1990s, Usher began dating TLC singer, Chilli. The two were one of the cuter young couples of the early 2000s. Some compared them to the black version of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Much like their white counterparts, the two were done with each other before 2005. Because the two looked so good together, fans were dismayed when they broke up. Rumors began of Usher cheating on Chilli. Over the years, this is something Usher never opened up about.

Recently, Chilli has been more open to talk about their relationship, but she never spoke of Usher's infidelity. But, in his VH1 documentary, Usher revealed the reason they broke up. His frequent cheating, along with past relationships, never gave their relationship a fighting chance. Usher justifies his actions by stating he wanted to build a family and Chilli did not.

The couple remains great friends and they often give each other relationship advice.

Former Diddy contestant lands Oxygen reality show

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Over six years ago, Diddy prepared for another season of his hit television series, "Making the Band." Fresh off the flop of his previous project, Da Band, Diddy was open to new ideas. The mogul decided to shun hip hop entirely for the next season of the show. Until the show premiered, people had doubts.

Throughout the season, Diddy continued to show how dedicated he is to the music. Ever since branching out, he has been viewed as neglegent to Bad Boy Records. But, when it came to forming this new group, he went all out. One of the main reasons the people stayed tuned in was to watch Aubrey O'Day.

O'Day had the look and men across America wanted to continue to look at her. There were rumors of Diddy being one of those men. In 2004, the group emerged to be Danity Kane and they landed a few hits. Despite becoming stars after the show, Diddy decided to bring them back for another season and it did wonders for their sales on their follow-up album.

In an effort to continue the cross-promotion, he mixed them with his Day26 project, until he made the brash decision to disband Danity Kane. After years of rumors between Diddy and Aubrey O'Day, he had left her out in the cold. For the past two years, Diddy has continued to make his frequent television appearances, while O'Day has been a candidate for "Where Are They Now?" for some time. Hoping to avoid this and get back into the limelight, Aubrey O'Day was finally thrown a bone.

Oxygen has linked with Aubrey O'Day for a new reality show to highlight her comeback efforts. The new show is titled "The Aubrey O'Day Project" and it will begin airing sometime before the end of this year.

The Dream Discusses His Separation From Christina Milian

Friday, July 16, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

Earlier this week, as you all know, The Dream has caused a big controversy with the released pictures of him and his personal assistant, leaving others questioned about him and Christina Milian's relationship.

He addressed the situation on his website and said the following:

In My Own Words:
First I want to thank God for the trials of life, without them we can’t know purpose!
I would love to tell the truth as to why my relationship wasn’t successful, but today that is between me and Christina. Its easy to say that it’s because of another woman or a new relationship but truthfully, IT’S NOT.
I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for misleading everyone into thinking everything was fine and okay when we knew problems existed for awhile! I wanted to speak up but we decided it wasn’t for anyone to know. I would NEVER intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that! There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order not to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret!
I am Human and people fall in and out of Love all the time… This is Life. Nothing’s promised or perfect, neither am I. I am not proud that I lost something we once had…LOVE! I’ve always been a Loving Father, Hard Worker, Generous, Stern and Eager to prove myself. My faults are I can be irresponsible and an ass sometimes, but I HAVE NEVER and WILL NEVER be a malicious person or wish harm to anyone, especially those I love or the mother of my child. I’m sorry for the embarrassment to everyone involved! If there’s anyone to blame and you can’t fathom this happening, please blame me and me alone for not being upfront! Even though we were trying to overcome personal things between us, I was just simply scared and embarrassed to let everyone know we WERE FAILING and HAVE NOW FAILED!
This is not to justify anything, it’s true emotion! It’s a real thing that involves real people! I’ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I’ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming.
But I was reminded by my MOTHER that I am not “Superman” and its okay to lose sometimes…
This too shall pass! And everything will be fine!
~ Terius Nash ~
I had faith in these two, but not anymore.

Christina, you settled for less. I'm just saying.

MaShonda Still Discusses Swizz Beats & Alicia Keys

Thursday, July 15, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, & MaShonda's situation is just so messy. I'll be relieved when she just let everything go, & move on. I'm not saying what Alicia Keys did was right, but you have to also think that If Swizz didn't want you anymore, so be It.

MaShonda, girl. If you don't just move on from this, and find you a new man. I'm just saying.

Anyways, MaShonda sat down with Vibe Magazine and had an in depth interview discussing Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys, and her new memoir "The Death of a Mermaid." You can check out the full interview here, but I decided I'll include an excerpt from the interview here.

You’ve mentioned in the past that Swizz repeatedly denied having an affair with Alicia. Did he ever fully come out and admit to it?
My husband admitted to having his affair on Mothers Day 2008, six months after I found out. I didn't sleep for a whole year. I had to take pills to sleep because I'd wake up in the middle of the night crying. I couldn't even look at my son some days because I didn't have the strength and I never wanted him to feel my bad energy. It was a battle. They are just now going public, but this has been going on for a very long time. I refused to really break it down for people to understand because there was no way I could go around not making [Swizz and Alicia] look extra crazy and I didn't want to put that out there for my son. I didn't want him to see his father as a monster. But the shit is deep.

What was the last thing you remember doing to keep the marriage in tact?

I did everything I could do, but I knew there was no working it out when he admitted his affair to me… he was happy about it. After lying about it for so long and finally admitting it I was like ‘I can't take it no more!’ In the back of my mind I was like, ‘I have to fight for my family, this is my son's father. We were supposed to grow old together, we were supposed to raise this baby together, we were supposed to do all these things, I'm fighting for my fucking husband. I don't care who he's dating, I don't care how much money she's got, I'm fighting for my husband.’ And then I realized… I can't fight for him… he doesn't want to be with me. I'm not going to win this one.

How do you fight for a husband?

I fought more for the family than I did for my husband. It wasn't ‘I love you, don't leave me.’ It was never that because that’s not even me. It was, ‘Let’s work it out for this baby. You can't leave. I can't be a single mom. Let’s go to counseling, we are a family.’

Did you ever get a response?

None… none.

Were these conversations mainly over the phone?

Phone. Person. He lived here for a long time after he left to go be with her. He was back and forth.

Did you guys sleep in the same bed?

No, I put him in a different room. I know my worth. I don't have to beg anybody to want to be with me. I wouldn't torture myself with that.
When was the last time you spoke to him?
We talk almost every day. We have a child so we have to.

Sounds a bit obligatory, are you guys trying to rebuild a friendship?

We're cool. I want to be the best we could be for our son. If my son wants us to hug, we'll give each other a hug. Whatever makes him happy, you know kids like to see that. And I don't hate [Swizz], there's nothing anybody can do to me to really make me hate him. Hate is such a terrible word. It's strong. I just don’t approve of what he did and how he did it.

Quote: "I got to be honest with you...I was not in love." Girl, lies.

In her new book, she even reveals her deepest secret, that she was raped by a music executive while trying to get a deal.

Time for a therapy session.

Rumors reported that The Dream and Christina Milian were separated but were never confirmed until early this morning photos of The Dream and his personal assistant Melissa was all cuddled up in the Caribbean.

Terius 'The Dream' Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family.

US Weekly released that statement from The Dream.

& I feel as if this situation will only get uglier in the media.

How are you asking for consideration and respect, when you don't even have enough respect for Christina of the released photos of you and your personal assistant Melissa Marie? Christina even has a picture sitting alongside of Melissa as If she would never expect It being her.

We'll see how this plays out, hopefully It doesn't get uglier than It already is.

An Open Letter To Lebron James From Dan Gilbert, And Lebron's Response

Saturday, July 10, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

As you may already know, NBA Player Lebron James has made his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join Miami Heat. Cleveland Cavaliers offered a $128 million, 6 year deal, but instead took the $99 Million, 5 year deal the heat has offered to play along with Chris Bosh & Dwayne Wade.

Dan Gilbert [Cleveland Cavaliers Owner] was not happy one bit, and wrote this open letter to Cleveland fans.

Dear Cleveland, All of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight.

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:
"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....
Dan Gilbert
Yes, he went all the way in! Cleveland fans were also burning Lebron's jersey in conclusion of his decision.

Lebron James gave his opinion on what Dan Gilbert had to say, and this is how he responded.

"I really don't have a reaction to what Dan said. When thing hit the fan, you see a guy's true colors, and I understand that. I wish the organization the best of luck and I wish the fans the best of luck, because I still do love those fans. Dan's comments are not going to stop me and my family from sleeping at night. It just won't do it. I understand now I made the right decision. And to hear my former owner's comments, I also understand I made the right decision."

Now that Lebron has made his decision and his opinion, can everybody just give it a break? It was time for him to change, and explore new things. He wasn't going to stay with Cleveland forever. Meanwhile, I hope all the other Basketball teams bring their A game next season, because I know The Heat will be bringing it.

50 Cent Vs. Diddy, The New Big Feud

Friday, July 9, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

50 Cent went in on Rap Mogul P. Diddy, when discussing the rapper saying some very spiteful remarks.

He said:

"Puffy is a bitch. He wanted to be the hot bitch in his group...You know how an ugly bitch surrounds herself with pretty girls? Well, he is the pretty bitch with the other girls around him. He will suck the life out of everyone he is around. His music sucks. It's bad. He's not an artist anyway, so it doesn't really matter. When you think about it, is he a rapper? Because he says he doesn't write rhymes, he writes cheques. Nobody's buying ['Last Train to Paris'] he even said it himself that he doesn't expect it to sell.''

Wow! 50 Cent started a petition that states "Enough is Enough, Biggie's name should never become Diddy's black card. Let Diddy know to let B.I.G Rest In Peace. When was the last time Diddy really was ''biggin'' up his brother," not bigging up his bank account.

If you tuned into BET Awards 2010 After Show, P. Diddy subliminally directed retorts at 50 cent.

Diddy says:

"I love my people, Let's stop the hate man. Congratulate! Hate is for suckas, If you hatin' you're a sucka. You're ashy, and your breathe stink. You know who I'm talking to you hating ass crab!"
50 Cent has not filtered anything out of his mouth, and has said various things before Diddy even came back at him with that subliminal.

All in all, sources say 50's beef with Diddy started after Diddy created a rap super-group named "The Supreme Team." The group consists of Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and Red Cafe. The Supreme Team is also the name of the gang who allegedly attempted to murder 50 Cent. Diddy has since changed the name of his group to "The Dream Team."

The beef between these two will only get stronger. Especially, the petition that 50 has going around. We just all hope that this beef doesn't get uglier than It already is, and that 50 & Diddy can make amends.

Lebron James Sued For Millions By Man Claiming To Be His Father

Thursday, July 8, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

All of a sudden, a 55-year-old man that goes by the name of Leicester Bryce Stovell comes out and claims he's NBA Basketball Player Lebron James father. Just 24 hours in advance of James getting ready to making a highly publicized announcement of what team he will be playing for next season.

According to TMZ, Leicester is suing for $4 million from both Lebron and his mother, -- claiming fraud, defamation, and misrepresentation.

Here's what he's claiming that went down: Leicesters says he met Gloria in a D.C. area bar in 1984. He had unprotected sex with her on the night they met, and he later found out she was 15-years-old. He was 29. Gloria moved back to her hometown Ohio, and returned several months later informing that she was pregnant with a boy named Lebron, never specifically identifying the father.

Leicester isn't just nothing--He's a Princeton graduate who earned a law degree from the University of Chicago, then became a Senior Legal Advisor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

In his suit, Stovell claims he has a very clear recollection of the night he had "consensual sexual relations" with Gloria -- in fact, he even remembers apologizing for his sub-par performance.

Leicester claims Gloria went back to her hometown in Ohio after they hooked up -- but returned several months later to inform him she was pregnant with a boy named LeBron ... but she never specifically identified the father.

Leicester -- a self-proclaimed high school star athlete -- says he remembers telling Gloria, "Well, if he's mine, make sure he plays basketball." He claims that was the last time he saw Gloria for more than 20 years.

According to the docs, Leicester claims he reconnected with Gloria over the phone in 2007 -- when he began to think he could be LeBron's father ... partly because they look almost identical. Leicester also notes that when he saw LeBron at an NBA game he was, "struck by our similarity in appearance ... James and I are nearly if not identical height and pigmentation and have very similar athletic body types."

Leicester claims during the 2007 phone call -- Gloria denied ever meeting him -- threatened to have him physically harmed -- and told him, "LeBron's money is for his children."

A few days after the phone call, Leicester claims LeBron -- through his lawyer -- agreed to take a DNA paternity test.

Leicester claims he was given results that showed he was not LeBron's dad ... but several months later, he began to suspect that the results were tampered with ... and Gloria and LeBron were behind the fraud.

So why would LeBron participate in such a cover-up? Leicester claims it's all, "due to anger at perceived abandonment and conflict arising from his image as a successful fatherless child from the projects."

He also claims that Gloria had "fabricated" a story about LeBron's real father for the "one dimensional commercial image-making purpose ... to make [LeBron's] life suggestive of Spike Lee's popular 1998 sports drama film, 'He Got Game.'"

Leicester is now seeking $4 million from both LeBron and his mother -- claiming fraud, defamation and misrepresentation.

And check this out -- Leicester also points out that LeBron named his 2nd son "Bryce" -- and claims it's no coincidence. As we said, Leicester's middle name is Bryce.

LeBron's reps could not be reached for comment.
This is ridiculous! Even though you're claiming to be his father, why are you suing your claimed-to-be son for $4 million? He's making things look as if he is really after the money. The whole story makes sense, but then again doesn't. Why now? Why $4 million? We need more questions, and answers.

He's also apologizing to Gloria for giving her bad D***! It couldn't be that bad, if she was only 15 years old.

Lebron James will be announcing his decision in a 60 minute special on ESPN tonight at 9pm. Lebron and his team will sell all advertising and everything will go towards the Boy and Girls Club of America.

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Diss Record

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

By Tirrell Hill
JR Mag Staff Writer

It seems as if now and days, rappers find beefing with each other entertaining to the public eye when it's not. If you're both in the music industry, you should try helping each other rather then trying to put each other down with subliminal remarks, and diss records.

Female Rapper Nicki Minaj, sits down with Vibe Magazine and explains how she handles a diss.

"My diss record is my success rate, and how much I can change to be somewhere for 30 minutes. That's my diss record. The fact that I can pay your mortgage for a year in 30 minutes. That's my diss record. That diss record makes everyone go "Oooooh word, Nicki went in!" That's all I need.
Yeah, she told us. One of the best quotes I've heard from any rapper focusing on that main topic.

Nicki Minaj recently shot the video for her single "Your Love" which is currently #1 on Billboards' Rap Chart. She tells MTV, that she wasn't even planning to put the song out. I guess It was a good cause, because a female rapper hasn't had a #1 solo record in over 8 years. The last female rapper to have a #1 solo, was Missy Elliot with "Work It."
