Beyonce has been the most famous black woman in the media for years. But, in 2008, the spotlight was widened as Michelle Obama emerged. She rose to fame as the wife of Barack Obama, the presidential candidate of the 2008 election. Even as her husband has gained and lost popularity, Michelle Obama has remained popular.
Both Beyonce and Michelle Obama are married to famous ambitious men. Jay-Z was considered the first black president before Barack Obama. In 2003, he became the first rapper to land a major executive role. From 2003 until 2008, Jay-Z served as the president of Def Jam.
In 2008, Barack Obama called upon Jay-Z to help him out with his campaign. The help of the former president helped Obama to become the president. The year of 2008 was when Barack Obama admitted he was a major Jay-Z fan, listening to his music in his iPod. During the campaign, Beyonce and Michelle Obama got to know each other very well.
For the first time, the two women have teamed up and they are getting the children active. Ever since last summer, Michelle Obama has been working on getting the children of the United States active. Beyonce has decided to join Mrs. Obama on the project. The First Lady is putting together a workout video and Beyonce will be helping out. Beyonce will offer a performance in the middle of the video and Michelle Obama hopes using Beyonce's name will help them get more children involved.
