No one showed up to Ja Rule's Birthday Bash
Friday, March 5, 2010
For some time, the media has been trying to do Ja Rule in and they feel that they finally have. Ten years ago, Rule was the biggest rapper on the planet. He remained on top of the game for three years before his feud with 50 Cent knocked him off of the top. Just one year later, however, Ja Rule released another platinum album, which was filled with big-name stars. Ever since the 50 Cent feud, Ja Rule has tried to prove that he is friends with the A-listers.
The past few weeks have consisted of the former rap star promoting his birthday bash. When speaking about the party, he said that all of the stars were going to show up for the bash. It is said that Ja Rule is friends with Jay-Z, as they speak with each other on the telephone often. He is also close with R. Kelly, Fat Joe, Game, and Jadakiss, not to mention his relationship with Ashanti. Despite having all of those great friends, the only star that showed up to his party was his former sidekick, Ashanti.
Ja Rule has been hovering around the line of irrelevance for some time. His chance to make a comeback was in 2007 with the release of The Mirror. But, after the album was sabotaged by Universal Records, he went from being a rapper staging a comeback to a has-been. The album was supposed to return him to the spotlight after three years of being away. It has been three years since then, which places him on a six-year hiatus. Only the legends manage to make a comeback after being missing for six years. As good as Ja Rule was, he was never a legend. The fact that the only star that showed up to the party was the star that he helped to make has proven that Rule has officially fallen off.
