Wednesday, February 23, 2011
JR Staff Writer
Despite not being in front of the spotlight anymore, Kelly Rowland has been paying attention. In 2002, she took a bold step in her career and it paid off. She and her rumored boyfriend, Nelly, teamed up for "Dilemma." The song ended up topping the Billboard Hot 100 and helped her debut album go platinum.
Because she exceed expectations on her first album, critics have expected Kelly Rowland to excell on each album. Instead, she has declined a bit with each album. Her quality of music is strong and she has grown as an artist. But, Rowland fails to capture fans the way artists, such as Rihanna, have.
Still, Kelly Rowland is working on new music and she has been following hip hop. She said she has love for Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane. Recently, Rowland was asked about her dream hip hop collaboration and she said she would work with them. Even though they have been criticized for their lack of lyrical exhibition, Kelly Rowland would still love to record music with them.
Kelly Rowland went on to say she would love to work with Kanye West. Despite being around him over the past eight years, she has yet to work with him. However, Rowland plans to change this sometime before the end of next year. Read more...

Nelly and Snoop Dogg are no strangers to acting as their film and television roles are just as popular as their music. Recently, the two rappers were cast in an episode of The CW's "90210." The show has featured quite a few rappers in its short run.
Snoop Dogg has played in many films, including a few serious roles. However, the rapper's most-famous film role was likely Soul Plane. Snoop's scene will not be a major one on "90210." He will be shown at a local car wash in the episode, but Nelly's role will be a little bigger.
In 2005, Nelly made a famous appearance on The Longest Yard. Nelly has also made small appearances on such shows as "CSI: New York." His appearance on "90210" is a chance for Nelly to market his new music. In the episode, Nelly will be playing himself as he is filming a new video. There has not been any news about when the episode of the show will broadcast. It is likely to air sometime towards the end of the current season. Read more...

Recently, Nelly decided to end the longstanding "secret." He admitted that he had been seeing Ashanti for some time. Unlike his past relationships with Eve and Kelly Rowland, Nelly has deep feelings for Ashanti. Even through their breakup, the two remained close.

Nelly has strong feelings for Ashanti, but the two are currently still broken up. Right now, the two are good friends and Nelly is willing to keep it that way as they work out their problems.
