In recent years, artists have been doing much more than simply making music. With the increase in reality television shows, many rappers and singers are also television stars. There are also a select few who have expanded into their own production companies, among other ventures.

Raheem DeVaughn rose to fame in 2008 and has since been hailed as one of R&B's brightest stars. However, his music has not received as much radio play as it once did. Like many other artists in his genre, DeVaughn has decided to branch out. It turns out Wale is not the only DC native making moves.

Recently, Raheem DeVaughn was added to Blis FM as a host, having his own show. On June 19, DeVaughn will launch his weekly program, "The Raheem DeVaughn Show." The show will follow the format of other urban radio shows, with a fusion of urban music mixed in with celebrity guest appearances.

A major player in the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, Raheem DeVaughn has made sure his upcoming series will include a health segment. DeVaughn said he was excited about the upcoming series because he has never had a chance to interact as closely with his fans as he will through this show. Aside from his love of performing and hosting events, Raheem DeVaughn has also had love for working on the radio. Now, he will have a chance to live out all of his dreams.
