Outside of rap, Kanye West has been trying to brand himself as a businessman. In 2008, he launched KW Foods, LLC and partnered with Fatburger. The venture brought the first Fatburger restaurants to the city of Chicago.

When the locations sprang up around the city, they were met with positive responses. But, the restuarants have lost luster going into its third year. Despite his wealth, Kanye West cannot afford to be losing money at a consistent rate.

The traffic at the Fatburger in the Bevery neighborhood has dwindled terribly. Kanye West has been trying to find ways to get people to come by. Even with a celebrity owner, KW Foods has struggled to get patrons.

Forced with no other option, Kanye West has decided to close the Fatburger location, after barely two years in operation. While the Fatburger was closed, the company said they do hope to return to the location when they feel as though they can afford to.
