LeBron James admits "The Decision" was wrong

LeBron James truly has a knack for upsetting people. In only one hour, he managed to turn the entire sports media against him. In a new commercial, he managed to make the people even more upset with him. But, LeBron is doing all that he can in order to put all of this in his past.

Starting with his commercial, LeBron James is trying to turn the corner in his career. While James does not regret leaving Cleveland, he does regret the way he left the team. Many fans of the Cavs were upset because he left. Many sports fans were upset with the way that he left.

Due to all of the hype, dating back to 2008, LeBron James thought it would be fun to have a one hour ESPN special. Most fans and critics expected him to announce he was staying put. But, when he said he was going to be a part of Dwyane Wade's team for the next six years, the world watched with disgust. Ever since that announcement, the world has hated LeBron just as much as DeShawn Stevenson.

Looking back on things, and the reaction, LeBron James regrets the way he handled his departure from the lowly Cavaliers. While he will never regret going to play with his friends, LeBron James agrees with his critics on the fact that he should have left in a low-key manor. Despite James saying he regrets the decision, the fans in Cleveland have vowed they will never forgive the man they once valued more than gold. In the future, however, James hopes Cleveland can come to forgive him for his decision.

Rihanna talks about Chris Brown relationship

Thursday, October 28, 2010

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Early last year, Rihanna's high-profile relationship with Chris Brown came to a devastating end. The couple had been painted as the picture of perfect. But, they were revealed to actually be in an abusive relationship and the media ate it up. In the end, the couple was broken up via court order.

For the first time since the breakup, Rihanna has opened up about her time after their split. She said she was lost for a long period of time because she had grown so close to Brown. Rihanna felt as if she was out of touch with herself and she needed a wakeup call. The wakeup call was their public fight, which forced her to move on.

While the first few months without Chris Brown were very rough on her, things soon got better for Rihanna. During the spring of 2009, she met Drake and the two began dating. Things did not work out between the two, but she ended up making a good friend. Also, her friendly split from Drake gave her the confidence to move on with her love life and she eventually found L.A. Dodger, Matt Kemp.

Ne-Yo addresses "Libra Scale" leak

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

When he first signed with Def Jam, Ne-Yo released an album every calendar year. But, following Year of the Gentleman, Ne-Yo took some time off to gather his thoughts. He planned to come back in 2010 with the best album of his career. The singles released from his fourth effort, Libra Scale, have been well-received, but there is a slight hitch.

Roughly a month before the album is prepared to hit shelves both in the United States and internationally, the album has been leaked. This is nothing new with big name artists when they prepare their albums. But, usually artists deal with their albums being leaked a week or two ahead of time. Ne-Yo is highly upset and he has a reason.

Ne-Yo replied to the hacker via Twitter.

"Salutations all. I’m in japan and my album officially came out today out here. Today is a day that I SHOULD be very happy, but it has been brought to my attention that my album was hacked and leaked in the U.S. roughly a month before it’s U.S. release.

Initially this angered me. It’s stealing plain n’ simple. But then I started thinking. Why do I make music….? To sell records, make money, or is it because I love it, love how it touches people, how it helps people? The honest answer is both…

However, my love for music and it’s effect on people, outweighs my desire to simply sell records, or get that number one debut spot.

In a time where people buy their status and falsify their success, can those things really be that important to me? The answer is no.
So with that said, I’ve come to this place of mental peace. No longer stressing people that steal the music, how it’ll effect my sales. The bottom line is, I worked hard on this project. The music, the concept, the whole lot is for the people, respect or not.
So if you as a fan give a damn about me, buy the album when it comes out. If you don’t care, go get it off the internet. Your choice.
Ether way, the music, the concept, the whole lot, served it’s purpose. It gave the people something quality to vibe to. I’m not solely in the business of selling records. I’m in the business of making art. That’s what an artist does, period.
So with that twit fam and haters alike, I bid you farewell for now, and leave you with this….

I’LL BE DAMNED IF YOU HACKER FUCKS GET MY NEXT ALBUM BEFORE IT’S TIME!!! FUCK YOU ALL!!!! Have a nice day."

Jamie Foxx lands TV deal with NBC

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Outside of his music and television career, Jamie Foxx is hoping to venture into creating his own television shows. Last month, FOX revealed they had picked up Foxx' sketch comedy show. Now, barely one month later, NBC is also in business with Jamie Foxx.

The series is called "Tommy's Little Girl" and it is about an attorney/assassin who is out for revenge. She was the daughter of a mob boss, who was murdered along with the rest of her family. She is in a position of power and she uses it to strike back.

Jamie Foxx has always had interest in multiple topics and he is glad his comedy show and his drama have been picked up. Foxx believes "Tommy's Little Girl" will be a hit because a show with this concept has never been done before. He has been innovative throughout his career.

Despite the show being picked up by a network, there are not any actors currently signed to a contract with the series. A trailer for the show was filmed in July, but the actors did not sign contracts because no one expected the show to actually be picked up. Now that the program has been picked up, both Jamie Foxx and the NBC network have been on the phone with the actors from the trailer.

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Hip hop in the summer of 2010 will be known for the impressive debut of Drake, the strong performance from Rick Ross and the year Eminem officially reclaimed his spot. Following his chart-topping single, "Not Afraid," Eminem teamed up with Rihanna for the abusive "Love The Way You Lie."

Following a rough year for Rihanna, she benefited from being featured on the song. While her voice was being heard on the radio again, Rihanna received some flack for doing such a song after the Chris Brown issue. But, once a disclaimer was put on the music video, the song continued to rise.

Now, with fall in full swing, Eminem and Rihanna are still dominating the charts. The people want to hear more of this story and both artists want to tell more. But, Eminem does not being recording his next album until later in the fall and music will not be released until next year. Rihanna, on the other hand, is preparing her Loud album for release this fall.

However, on "Love The Way You Lie (Part II)," Rihanna will have more of a say. Ja Rule reunites with Lil' Mo and stars in Indie Film

Sunday, October 24, 2010

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

The past six years have not been easy on Ja Rule. Ever since 2004, he has been trying to return to the top of the game. His comeback has taken so long that it is actually longer than his active career. Still determined to break back into the game, Ja Rule has decided to take things back a bit.

On his 2007 album, The Mirror, Ja Rule did everything but call his former duet partner, Ashanti, out by name. Two years later, he reunited with her. Later in the year, Rule also reunited with DMX. It was big for the black community when these former collaborators reunited, but one person was missing.

When Ashanti was signed to Murder Inc., there was no reason for the label to work with Lil' Mo. Despite her friendship with the label, Mo was signed to Elektra Records. Lil' Mo found all of her recordings on the Pain is Love album scrapped in favor of recordings with Ashanti. Following her less-than-friendly reaction, Ja Rule dissed Lil' Mo and she sided with 50 Cent during his downfall.

Older and wiser, Ja Rule has done wonders in rebuilding bridges he burned in the past. Ja Rule has made peace with Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Ashanti, DMX, Dr. Dre, and now Lil' Mo. Rule hopes all of these new friends will eventually help him out. Later this year, Ja Rule hopes to release his eighth studio album, Rule York. Unlike his previous seven releases, this album will be released through his own Mpire label with little imput from Irv Gotti and Murder Inc.

Outside of the music, Ja Rule recently took to the streets of Garfield, New Jersey to star in the independent crime film, Goats. The film is about a man (Ja Rule) who makes a wrong decision that follows him for life. The film was directed by Paul Borghese and will be released early next year.

Rihanna gives Drake props

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Last summer, Rihanna had a fling with Drake. But, both artists were rebounding with each other so things did not work out. The relationship did enough to get a response from Chris Brown. But, eventually Drake and Brown built a friendship. Clearly, it is in the best interest of the entire hip hop community to befriend Drake.

Rihanna has realized this and recently decided to hang out with the Young Money star. Following the collaboration, Drake advised Rihanna to make one of his songs her first single. Sensing how hot he is, Rihanna is considering putting the song out. She has not hesitated to let people know how good Drake is.

While she denys ever wanting to be romantically involved with him again, Rihanna wants to make music with him. Last week, however, Drake said he would not mind getting back with her. It is not impossible, but Rihanna is impressed with his musical abilities more than anything else, at this moment. She said he is one of the most-talented people she has ever worked with.

When speaking of Drake, Rihanna said he is not only talented, but he is by far the hottest rapper in the game right now. It is rare for a popular artist to also be talented, so Rihanna is taking advantage of this by putting him on her new tracks. Her new album, Loud, will be here in a few weeks and Rihanna needs all the promotion she can get. Having Drake on her album is promotion enough and she has been raving about her ex ever since. He may not have been the best she's ever had, but he is good enough for platinum.

Russell Simmons lands Oxygen reality show

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

For years, Russell Simmons has been promoting himself through reality television. His ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, frequently features him in her E! reality show, "Life in the Fab Lane." Russ has also gained a prominent role in his brother, Run's, MTV hit, "Run's House."

Back in 2008, Russell Simmons said he would not get into reality television. Aside from not wanting cameras around him all of the time, he felt the exposure he was getting through other reality shows was enough promotion for him. However, as his roles on both "Life in the Fab Lane" and "Run's House" have diminished, Russell Simmons is making his move.

Oxygen network has decided to do a show with the hip hop mogul. This is not the first time Oxygen has dealt with reality hip hop television. Coolio and his family had their own program on the network in 2008. MC Hammer also had a show to air on Oxygen. While those programs did not work out, Oxygen is not giving up on hip hop and they have a bigger name this time around. The network quickly gave the green light to "Running Russell Simmons."

The series will focus on Russell Simmons as he runs multiple businesses and juggles a life on the side. The show is actually produced by Simmons' own company, Simmons Lathan Media Group. "Running Russell Simmons" will premiere on Oxygen on November 2, 2010.

The past year has been a wild one for Chris Brown. Coming into last year, Brown was preparing to take his rightful spot as the king of R&B. But, one public fight with then-girlfriend, Rihanna, changed everything. After hitting Rihanna, the media turned on the star they adored and it was downhill until recently.

Even after the beating, Chris Brown was still included as the co-star on a tour with Usher. Before the beating, fans were excited to see two of R&B's finest touring together. But, things fell through, but Usher denied it being because of Brown's reputation. Chris Brown recently spoke on the situation.

Brown said it was a good idea and his team was very excited, as was Usher's team. But, when it came time to actually do business, neither side was ready. Earlier this year, 50 Cent spoke of why he has not had a public girlfriend since Vivica A. Fox. While he was speaking, 50 revealed he did not have a girlfriend at all. Because of the money he was making, 50 Cent said he did not know who to trust.

Tia Mowry is glad "The Game" is Back

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

"The Game" helped introduce Tia Mowry to an audience who had forgotten her. Mowry, along with her twin sister, Tamera, rose to fame in the 1990s on the sitcom, "Sister, Sister." The show was a hit, but after it was cancelled, Tia and Tamera fell off.

But, in 2006, when Tia Mowry guess starred on an episode of the hit sitcom, "Girlfriends," it was clear she was back. The pilot received high ratings and "The Game" came later in the year. For the next three years, Tia Mowry rose to fame again as the scorned woman, Melanie Barnett.

Despite "The Game" bringing in high ratings for The CW Television Network, the network was looking to take it off of their schedule. "Girlfriends," the parent show of "The Game," was cancelled in 2008. Before the 2008-2009 season, The CW placed "The Game" on their Friday night schedule and the ratings plummeted.

Following the 2009 season, The CW decided not to renew "The Game." Beginning during the summer of 2009, BET showed interest in picking up "The Game." From that point until earlier this year, BET held the loved series in a limbo. With the back-and-forth over, "The Game" will return in 2011. The protagonist, Tia Mowry, could not be happier that her show is returning. She had gained fame in two decades and was upset because she felt her run was cut short.

But, in a rare case, her cancelled series was picked up by a cable network that has decided to make her the face of their original programming. New episodes of "The Game" begin on January 11, 2011.

Usher opens up on Disappointments and Failed Marriage

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Last year, Usher had a high-profile divorce from Tameka Foster and it even inspired his most-recent album, Raymond v. Raymond. While he continues to deny the album title was not about the divorce, he cannot deny the lead single, "Papers." It is clear in the chorus what that song is about.

Usher sings "I done damn near lost my mama" in the chorus and he recently opened up on this. Even as a young man, Usher has always been attracted to older women. But, when he began dating Foster, his mother strongly objected. Foster was much older than Usher and already had three children.

When Usher proposed to Foster and got her pregnant, his mother cut ties with him. As he planned the wedding, he still invited his mother, despite the fact of her being upset with him. Even though she was upset, Usher still wanted his mother to be there as he became a husband for the first time. However, his mother could not put differences aside and she did not attend the wedding.

Three years later, Usher sees why his mother strongly objected the union and the two are back on good terms with each other. Despite seeing what his mother tried to shield him from, Usher still hurts because his mother did not come to see him get married. From time-to-time, Usher thinks about this and he can still feel the pain.

LeBron James teams with Dr. Dre with new Headphone Line

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Over the past decade, Dr. Dre has been preparing his third studio album, Detox. The album has been considered a myth, of sorts, much like LeBron James. James has been the most-talked about basketball figure since Michael Jordan. But, 2010 has not been a great year for James.

In the last NBA season, many expected LeBron James to lead his team to a championship. While he did lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the league's best record and winning an MVP award, the team fell in the playoffs. Following the season, James left the Cavaliers to join former rival, Dwyane Wade in Miami.

For years, James' leadership had been questioned and his move to another man's team confirmed it. Ever since his move to Miami, the media has pounced on LeBron James. The owner of his former team in Cleveland has had nothing but negative comments for him. Not only this, but Charles Barkley, his foormer biggest fan, has become his harshest critic.

While LeBron James seems to be in a good position to win multiple championships, many view him as a man who could not do it on his own. In other words, LeBron James is a loser and he has been treated as such by the media and even a man claiming to be his father. But, as the season nears and the championship seems close, things are changing for LeBron James. Recently, Dr. Dre teamed up with the two-time MVP for his headphone line, Beats by Dre. James will become the latest partner of Dr. Dre's venture.

Ty Martin opens eyes with "Lord Why Me?"

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Domestic abuse has become more and more common as the 2010s have arrived. The issue has been around since the beginning of time, but in the 1990s helplines were opened for abused people. But, as time has gone on, domestic abuse has been shown from both sides. Recently, it was almost glorified in the Eminem music video, "Love the way You Lie."

Following the release of the video, there was a major uproar. Now, following the summer of 2010, Atlanta playwright, Ty Martin has delivered his response. His play was not inspired by the video, but it comes at the right time. Martin follows the rules instilled during the childhood years, "keep your hands to yourself." Another childhood rule is "boys do not hit girls."

Ty Martin gives everyone a reminder of this in his latest play, "Lord why Me?" In the play, a woman is depicted in an abusive relationship and she has nowhere to turn. Based on a true story, Martin shows the pain and suffering people in abusive relationships go through. Unlike in the Eminem video, the violence is not glorified and the people leave entertained and with a lesson, the best of both worlds.

Currently, the play is being shown at The Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, but tour dates will soon be announced.

Trey Songz and Lauren London may Be Pregnant

Monday, October 4, 2010

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

For the past year, Trey Songz has been on an incredible run. Trey had been making hits in the shadows of Ne-Yo and Usher throughout his career. But, in 2009, his time came as Ne-Yo decided to focus on other ventures, Chris Brown felt a major hit to his career and Usher was wrapped up in a divorce. When he released Ready, the people were feeling him.

In order to keep the wave going, Trey Songz jumped right back in the studio and released Passion, Pain, & Pleasure. Riding the success of his latest hit, "Bottoms Up," with Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz has proven he can contend with Ne-Yo, Usher, and Chris Brown. All four of these artists are experiencing tremendous success late in the year.

Rumor has it, outside of music, Trey Songz may have another accomplishment on the way. Months ago, it was revealed that Trey was dating Lauren London, the ex-girlfriend of Lil Wayne, and mother to one of his sons. As they have made their relationship public, the couple has been making multiple appearances together. Recently, a photo of the couple exposed a slight bump on the tummy of Lauren London. While nothing has been confirmed, the internet has heated up with rumors about another Lauren London child, this time with Trey Songz.

If the rumors are indeed true, 2009-2010 truly has been a great span of time for the man competing to become the new king of R&B.

Following her breakup from Chris Brown, Rihanna moved on with rapper Drake. Last summer, their relationship was all the buzz and some expected a response from Chris Brown. However, their relationship did not last. Rihanna clearly was not over Drake and he was clearly not over an earlier relationship either.

In the time since their breakup, Drake has become the biggest rapper in the game and made peace with Chris Brown. Meanwhile, Rihanna has enjoyed some commercial success and a new love interest in the form of Los Angeles Dodger, Matt Kemp. Now that everyone has moved on, they can all work together.

"The Game" returns on January 11, 2010 on BET

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Two years ago, The CW Television Network cancelled the long-running series, "Girlfriends," and moved "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game" to Friday nights. After the season, both shows were removed from the schedule.

While Chris Rock gracefully bowed out and ended his series, Black America stepped up for "The Game." Nearly every black celebrity wore t-shirts that read "Save The Game." BET had began aring reruns of the show that were well-received.

Throughout the summer of 2009, there were multiple reports of BET picking up "The Game." Each time the rumors were confirmed, someone came back and denied the rumors. With all of the back-and-forth, interest in another season of "The Game" soon waned and the people moved on. However, back in April of this year, BET broke the news, themselves, about bringing the show back for another season.

Opting to wait until after the fall television season, BET announced "The Game" would not return until sometime in 2011. Recently, news broke about the series returning for a fourth season on January 11, 2010.
