Even before the death of Michael Jackson, many male R&B singers were hailed as the next King of Pop. Ne-Yo has been among the many artists compared to Michael Jackson. The only difference between Ne-Yo and the others is that he is the most similar.

Because of the similarities between the two artists, Michael Jackson and Ne-Yo did become friends before his 2009 death. Had Michael lived long enough, he would have released a new album. More than likely, Ne-Yo would have been on this album.

Sony, the label that helped send Michael Jackson to an early grave, recently decided to release Jackson's final recordings. They have allowed Akon to helm the album. The new collection of material, entitled Michael, features 50 Cent, among other stars.

Ne-Yo was recently asked how he felt about the new album. Shockingly, Ne-Yo said he has not heard the album and he does not intend to. The Arkansas singer said he does not approve of the Michael album because he does not think Michael Jackson would have released the album. Ne-Yo said he prefers the old music from Michael Jackson instead of this new stuff.

Earlier this year, Will.i.am also openly criticized the Michael album.
