Last year, Bow Wow retired from rap in order to focus more on his film gigs. A little over a year later, Bow Wow has returned to the game to take it over. Along the way, he has landed a role in the upcoming Tyler Perry film, Madea's Big Happy Family.

Over the past five years, Tyler Perry films have become a way of life for the black community. In 2005, Perry had a breakthrough hit with his Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Every year since, he has released two hit films each year.

Tyler Perry's brand has grown so popular that he is now doing films for other filmmakers. Not only is he producing for other filmmakers, but he is also landing major stars in his work. Bow Wow is the latest star to play in a Tyler Perry film.

Bow Wow does not mind starring in a Tyler Perry film because he knows how successful the brand is and he has become quite a fan, himself. With his album, Underrated, coming sometime next year, Bow Wow needs all of the promotion he can get. The best form of promotion is an acting gig in a Tyler Perry film as Bow Wow will likely be promoting both.
