Monday, May 3, 2010
All good things come to an end and Big Daddy Kane’s life as a single man has finally ended. The rapper made a name for himself in the late 1980s and the early 1990s for his excellent lyrical ability. Old school hip hop fans credit him as the man who helped Jay-Z develop his style as a womanizer. Much like Jay’s rhymes in the early 2000s, Big Daddy Kane rapped about pimping.
Not only did his lyrics imply that he was a player, but Big Daddy Kane’s videos also continued to keep the image alive. Long before he had ever though of getting married, Kane was a model for Playgirl magazine. During this same time, he also carried on a relationship with popular pop singer, Madonna. After being with various women and on top of the rap world, he gave it up.
Having not released an album since 1998, Big Daddy Kane lives a slower-paced life in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. Kane has resided here since 2000. For the past few years, Big Daddy Kane even found the time to get into a relationship.
As his feelings progressed, the two were engaged and married over the weekend.
A private ceremony was held in North Carolina with Big Daddy Kane’s closest friends and family members in attendance.
