Ja Rule is moving into Movies
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
Ten years ago, Ja Rule was laying the groundwork to become the biggest rap star on the planet. His run at the top would be rather short-lived, but he has remained relevant over the past few years. Ja has proved that he is no quitter because he is still confident that he can take the game at 34 years old. Aside from the new albums that he has planned for release this year, Rule has become quite the movie star.
Unlike a few years ago, Ja Rule is not starring in those big-budget Hollywood films. Instead, Rule is receiving major roles in the independent film circuit. He is currently slated to star in two films, neither of which will air at the movie theaters. Still, Rule is beginning to live out his dream of becoming a movie star. Ja Rule had planned to retire from rap to begin his film career. But, the feud with 50 Cent made him re-think those plans.
With the feud behind him a big-name collaborators on his new album, Ja Rule will be starring in Just Another Day, alongside former G-Unit rapper, Lil Scrappy. This will mark the first time in Ja Rule's career that he has worked with a G-Unit artist that remains on good terms with the G-Unit honcho, 50 Cent. While having Ja Rule and Lil Scrappy in the same film is a bit of a shock, he is teaming up with another former big name for a new film. Alongside former B2K star, Omarion, Ja Rule will be starring in the gangster film, Wrong Side of Town.
Maybe if his performances are impressive in these films, Ja Rule will be called on by the big-budget Hollywood filmmakers to star in one of their films. He is involved in other minor film projects, but these are the ones that he will be starring in.
