Monica talks Lil' Kim's absence on New Single

Attempting to follow in the footsteps of Keyshia Cole, Monica recruited Lil' Kim and Missy Elliott for a new single. Much like the breakout Keyshia Cole hit, "Let it Go," Monica sampled a beat from The Notorious B.I.G. The new Monica single samples the controversial "Who Shot Ya."

Unlike Keyshia Cole, in 2007, Monica has had some issues with her song. The Lil' Kim verse was omitted from the song, because Voletta Wallace, the mother of Biggie, has blocked her. When the song was released, many wondered why Lil' Kim's verse was taken off the song.

Monica confronted all of the questions through her Twitter. She said she was beyond disappointed at what happened. Monica said both she and Missy Elliott are hurt. Due to the fact that Lil' Kim is both their friend, and a legend, they feel as if Lil' Kim should be a part of the single. Unlike them, Lil' Kim had an actual relationship with The Notorious B.I.G.

Monica also revealed she is fighting as hard as she can to get Lil' Kim back on the record. She is doing this for two reasons, the first is because Lil' Kim's verse is the best on the song, and the second is because she has much love for Lil' Kim. However, with Voletta Wallace pulling the strings, they will be sued if they release the Lil' Kim version of the song.

Ludacris denies Marriage Rumors

Last week, there were rumors of Ludacris marrying his longtime girlfriend. For the most part, Ludacris' love life has been kept out of the public eye. In 2008, there was a rumor about Ludacris being caught in a love triangle with Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade.

Outside of those rumors, Ludacris has hardly ever mentioned being in a relationship. However, Ludacris has been in a long-term relationship with Euxodie. Apparently, she is a cousin to Ludacris' own cousin, singer Monica.

Monica, despite being a relative of both, believed the rumors and congratulated Ludacris on the announcement. She left Ludacris a message on Twitter. It was after Monica's post when Ludacris revealed he was not getting married.

In typical Ludacris fashion, he played it all off with a joke. The Disturbing tha Peace rapper said he has learned so much about himself over the past two years with Twitter rumors. He said he was going to continue coming back so he could learn what will happen next in his life.

Monica wants her own Talk Show

As a singer, Monica has had a very successful career that spans well over ten years. Following a short break, Monica pulled off a comeback last summer. Multiple times, Monica proved she can dominate the music industry. Not only has she used her music for entertainment, but she has also used it to inform.

Monica realizes her talent is not only a way for her to provide for her family. Early on, she realized her growing popularity could be used to help others. She credits much of her success due to her giving spirit. Even with a giving spirit, Monica could not help the slide in the music industry.

No longer a big name in the game, when the major names experienced low album sales, she did too. Fortunately for Monica, she is in a situation where she is not fazed by record sales. Instead, Monica is only concerned with the well-being of her children and the fans. Last year, her biggest thrill came from reuniting with former collaborator, Brandy.

Now, Monica wants to take things to the next level. While she still loves to sing and plans to continue recording music, Monica wants to do more. Her spirit is definitely a giving spirit and she wants to do more to raise awareness of the problems around the world. Monica is trying to use her superstar status to land herself a talk show. On this talk show, Monica would inform the people of exactly what is going on all around the world.

Monica marries Shannon Brown of the L.A. Lakers

Despite her success in the music career, Monica has a had long list of failures in the love department. Her first fiancee committed suicide, leaving her heartbroken. Monica soon began dating rapper, Rocko, and they had children. The two were engaged for over two years.

Last March, however, Monica revealed that her engagement with the rapper was off. Not only were the two not getting married, but they were no longer together. Monica revealed Rocko had been cheating on her. Moving on with her life, Monica decided to focus solely on music.

The biggest Monica hit of 2010 was "Love All Over Me," ironic given her history with men. On the set of the video, she met future boyfriend, Shannon Brown. Immediately following the video shoot, Monica began seeing Shannon Brown. Last fall, Brown announced that he had proposed to Monica and she said yes. Monica boasted that she was truly happy for the first time in her life.

Recently, Shannon Brown was interviewed about the Lakers. During the interview, he was asked about his relationship with Monica. The NBA player admitted he was married to Monica and that they were in love with each other.

Earlier this year, Monica ended things with longtime boyfriend, Rocko. During the breakup, one of the things Monica continued to mention was a lack of trust. Any time she would be away from him, Rocko would cheat on her. Despite the breakup, the two remained friends for the sake of the children.

Following her split from Rocko, Monica mended fences with former friend and longtime rival, Brandy. The result of their renewed friendship was a collaboration. Not long after their reconciliation, Monica landed herself a Laker. While she did not end up with Kobe Bryant, she does date Shannon Brown.

Recently, Brown starred in her video, "Love all over Me," and the two tied the knot in the video. While things are going great in real life, Monica said no one should expect them to get married any time soon. However, Monica did state their relationship is better than most because they are completely honest with each other. In her past relationship, secrets managed to end things.

After years of denial, Monica admitted she and Brandy were not on speaking terms. But, after their meeting earlier this year, the two singers have become good friends. Currently, Brandy is on "Dancing with the Stars" and Monica said she will be voting for her collaborator each and every episode. Despite her support for Brandy on "Dancing with the Stars," Monica said no one should expect to see her on the hit ABC program anytime soon.

Monica to tour with Trey Songz

Ever since the lackluster sales of The Makings of Me, Monica has been working hard to regain her popularity. Before the release of her 2006 album, Monica had never had an album do worse than platinum. But, that album barely did gold and the response was less than positive, with some people saying her mind was not on the music. Wanting to do better, Monica took time off to reorganize.

Late in 2007, Monica began recording for the album and she wanted to have it out before the end of 2008. However, the album she recorded was not liked by herself or any of her people. Because of this, she pushed the album back. Also, she realized her BET program, "Still Standing," named after her album, could do wonders as far as promotion goes.

With all of this in common, Monica pushed her album back while becoming the face of BET. The fans loved her show and her family and following the second season of the show, the fans loved her album. In this stage of her career, Monica can accept a gold album because the game has changed. Then, with her relationship with Rocko taking a turn for the worst, Monica is happy with the results. Now, Monica is going on tour to give her fans a chance to personally hear her album.

Early on, Monica announced she would be on a tour in August. Trey Songz, fresh off of The Blueprint III tour with Jay-Z and Jeezy, is ready to do anything to keep himself in the spotlight. Last fall, Trey Songz dominated the male R&B game and his album was highly successful. Striking while the iron is hot, Songz has been recording another album to be released this year. With Monica being relatively popular and Trey Songz wanting the exposure, the tour benefits both stars. The details have not been worked out and the tour has not been named, but the tour will take place later in the summer.

Monica remains on Good Terms with Rocko

Two months ago, Monica revealed her two-year engagement to Rocko was off. Fresh off of the success of her show, "Still Standing," Monica was hoping to improve her life. She had set aside time to spend with her family and she thought she had everything. But, along the way, she discovered Rocko had been cheating on her. Monica quickly forgave him, but she had to end their relationship.

Throughout the hip hop community, several other stories similar to Monica's have broken. The most-popular story is the one between Nas and Kelis. Their marriage went sour while Kelis was carrying Nas' son and when he decided to reveal the child. Now divorced, Kelis is asking for nearly $1 million while refusing to allow Nas to see his son. Then, there is the story of Swizz Beatz and Mashonda.

However, the story of Monica and Rocko is playing out differently as they have managed to stick together for their child. The child, Lil' Rocko, knows the situation, but he has never witnessed his parents fight with each other. Recently, Lil' Rocko had a birthday and Monica and Rocko planned a party for their son, together. All of Monica's children showed up, as did all of Rocko's children. Despite their relationship being over, their families still meet to spend time together.

Monica addresses Chad Ochocinco rumors

Fresh off of her breakup from Rocko, Monica has been brought into rumors for the first time since they ended things. Because of her relatively young age, Monica is still one of the more desirable single ladies on the market. Then, add to the fact that she is a superstar; it makes a great story to tie her name to the name of other celebrities.

Of all of the eligible bachelors of the NFL, Chad Ochocinco recently eclipsed Terrell Owens as the most popular one out there. In spite of his strong personality, Ochocinco has become a favorite on the hit ABC series, “Dancing with the Stars.” Ever since he has been on the show, the star wide receiver has been tied to multiple rumors, including one about Niecy Nash.

Last week, Nash publicly denied that anything besides a friendship was going on between herself and the NFL star. With the time Monica has been spending with Ochocinco, plenty of time was left for the media to begin pairing Chad with Monica. Because she and Rocko have only been apart for two months, Monica is not quite ready for another relationship.

With all of the rumors going on between herself and Chad Ochocinco, Monica has denied anything more than a friendship with the wide receiver. She admitted to enjoying his company, but that is where their relationship ends. Ochocinco has been rumored to be a candidate for either a VH1 reality show or “The Bachelor.”

Monica ends feud with Brandy

Following their hit collaboration, "The Boy is Mine," a feud erupted between Monica and Brandy. Their collaboration sparked many comparisons between the two singers. Because of their youth, people were able to turn them against each other. They have feuded for some time since their 1998 hit collaboration.

However, recently, Brandy was talking about putting together her comeback album. She said that she has to follow the new standard of female R&B. When questioned about what that new standard was, Brandy said Monica. Putting their feud aside, Brandy said that Still Standing was a great album and that Monica set a new standard.

While the comments made by Brandy were probably simply comments, it was enough for Monica to put their feud to rest. She thanked Brandy for the praise and they ended their feud and now Monica wants to collaborate. As evidenced on her new series, "Family Business," Brandy is working on a new album. Having been out of the spotlight, she would benefit from a Monica cameo.

The two have only had one talk about reuniting, so nothing is official. However, if the two were to reunite for a new song, it would be a sequel of their 1998 hit, "The Boy is Mine." But, with that said, Monica and Brandy were talking of "ifs" and not "whens." There is a strong possiblity that the two do not end up recording a track together for a long time in the future. However, it is clear that the two are friends again. They have been spotted sharing each other's company in public.

Monica releases "Still Standing," talks Rocko

Initially set for release in 2008, Monica has released her long-awaited album, Still Standing. The album comes four years after the release of her album, The Makings of Me. Following the low sales of her last release, Monica took some time off to make sure that this album sold better than her last.

Monica has promoted her latest album in a unique fashion. She landed a deal with BET for a reality show. In an effort to promote her album, the show was titled "Monica: Still Standing." Much like the Keyshia Cole reality show, it featured Monica recording new music for the album. Now that it is out, the show is still a promotional too for her.

While it is great for Monica to finally have her album released to the public, she had to let some things go. Her boyfriend of two years, rapper Rocko, cheated on her. Because of that, Monica decided that it would be best for her to leave him. Some people work through infidelity, but Monica decided not to.

Initially, she said that she would not constantly speak about the breakup. But, in a recent interview with VIBE.com, she spoke on why she did things the way that she did. Many people questioned why Monica would announce the end of her relationship on Twitter. Her reason for going to Twitter to tell the people was because of the fact that she could not publicly say everything in detail. It was much easier for Monica to write out exactly what happened with Rocko.

The relationship is over, but Monica has decided to remain friends with Rocko. Prior to their romantic relationship, they had known each other for over ten years. Despite his cheating, Monica said that the good in Rocko outweighed the bad. While he may have been a poor choice in a lover, he has always been a great friend to her. She felt that she could announce to the world that they were over through Twitter in order to avoid answering the questions repeatedly on the radio circuit.

Monica leaves Rocko

For the past two years, Monica has been engaged to Rocko. He has two children by the R&B starlet. Their relationship was so close that Monica helped Rocko land a deal with Def Jam. On the label, he released his early 2008 hit, "Imma Do Me." This was followed by an album that did not sell very well.

The second album from Rocko was supposed to have come last year, as well as a new album from Monica. However, all that was delivered was a BET reality show starring Monica. On the show, it appeared that Monica and Rocko were happily engaged. Their two children also appeared on the show.

Recently, Monica revealed that things are not always what they appear to be. She revealed that her fiance of two years had cheated on her. While that was the reason that she left Rocko, Monica said that he is a good person. Rocko may be a good person, but he made an unforgiveable mistake.
