Brandy to star in Documentary detailing Music Comeback

Saturday, July 30, 2011

By TV Insider
JR Staff Writer

In 2008, Brandy attempted to pull of a comeback. Her album, Human, came after the tragic car accident of 2006. On the album, Brandy attempted to put her personal problems in the past. While her goal was moving on, her attitude turned many fans away from her. Human remains her lowest-selling album to date.

Brandy has struggled for quite some time, while Ray J has been one of the more popular R&B singers in years past. In 2009, Ray J soon became one of the more popular television stars. Quickly, he became the biggest face on VH1, when "For The Love of Ray J" premiered. The show received major ratings and left people wanting more of him.

When Ray J decided it was time to end his quest for love, at least for the entire world to see, VH1 wanted to do another show with him. This led to the formation of "A Family Business." Through the show, people were able to see the remorseful side of Brandy. While she was back in the public eye, her show, nor did her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars," do much to boost her music career.

Recently, Brandy confronted this and decided it was time to move on. Brandy announced she will soon be starring in a documentary. The documentary will focus more on Brandy trying to re-gain her spot in music, instead of her other ventures.

The last time fans truly heard from Flo Rida was 2009. The Miami rapper was riding off the success of his second album in as many years. However, last year, Flo Rida took time off to record his third album. During this time off, Flo Rida has had a high-profile relationship with Brandy, among other situations.

Earlier this year, a woman named Gloria Halloway gave birth to a son. Halloway is making accusations of the son being fathered by the rapper. Flo Rida's attorney spoke with TMZ and told them he already took a DNA test. The paternity test ruled Flo Rida out as the father of the child.

Flo Rida is coming under a little fire because he did not use his real name when he took the paternity test. Due to the fact he did not use his name, there is no proof the child is not his. It appears as if Flo will be back in court because he did not use his real name. Outside of his relationship woes and baby mama drama, Flo Rida has been out of the spotlight.

Currently, the rapper is working on a new release, called Only One Flo.

There were rumors of Brandy being involved with Terrence J of "106 & Park" fame. She had met him a few times after her appearances on the show. The two developed a friendship and went out a couple of times. Despite their friendship progressing, both maintain they are only friends.

Even without a male in her life, Brandy has been involved in pregnancy rumors. For the past few months, various gossip sites have said she was pregnant. Like most women involved in those rumors, Brandy tired to ignore it. Again, like most women who say nothing, the rumors only get worse until a response comes.

Brandy has stuck right with the tradition of the new form of media and denied being pregnant. She has no time for another child with so much on her plate. By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

Earlier this year, Monica ended things with longtime boyfriend, Rocko. During the breakup, one of the things Monica continued to mention was a lack of trust. Any time she would be away from him, Rocko would cheat on her. Despite the breakup, the two remained friends for the sake of the children.

Following her split from Rocko, Monica mended fences with former friend and longtime rival, Brandy. The result of their renewed friendship was a collaboration. Not long after their reconciliation, Monica landed herself a Laker. While she did not end up with Kobe Bryant, she does date Shannon Brown.

Recently, Brown starred in her video, "Love all over Me," and the two tied the knot in the video. While things are going great in real life, Monica said no one should expect them to get married any time soon. However, Monica did state their relationship is better than most because they are completely honest with each other. In her past relationship, secrets managed to end things.

After years of denial, Monica admitted she and Brandy were not on speaking terms. But, after their meeting earlier this year, the two singers have become good friends. Currently, Brandy is on "Dancing with the Stars" and Monica said she will be voting for her collaborator each and every episode. Despite her support for Brandy on "Dancing with the Stars," Monica said no one should expect to see her on the hit ABC program anytime soon.

Willie Norwood comes under fire for Illegitimate Son

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Willie Norwood is perhaps best-known as the father of Brandy and Ray J. As long as their children have been breathing, they have been in show business. First, Brandy was put out as an actress. Her acting career did not take off right away, but she became a force in the music industry. This popularity led to her own sitcom, “Moesha.” Following her sitcom, she returned to music.

After Brandy’s run was over, Ray J was handed the reigns. His music became extremely popular and he proved to be a good businessman, too. Outside of his music, Ray J brokered a deal with VH1 for his own show, “For The Love of Ray J.” The show dealt with his life after splitting from Kim Kardashian. Even after that show had its run, he landed a deal with VH1 for another show. However, his only condition was to bring the family along, too.

Never before has Willie Norwood had the exposure that he now has with this new VH1 reality show. There have been rumors of his son outside of his marriage with Sonja, but now the son is speaking. Born and raised in Atlanta, C-Dove wants to be featured on “A Family Business.” He has taken a picture with Ray J and he claims that Ray refers to him as his brother. Brandy wants a Sitcom

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Despite being best-known for her music, Brandy has also been a force in television, too. Before the release of her debut album, Brandy starred in the short-lived "Thea." Then, following the release and promotion of her debut album, she landed her own sitcom. After being pitched to CBS in 1995, "Moesha" ended up on UPN in 1996.

"Moesha," a family sitcom centered around the eldest daughter, portrayed by Brandy, became a major hit for the new network. Most family sitcoms revolved around the adults. This sitcom stuck out because of its new approach. The topics discussed in the show landed critical acclaim.

For five years, Brandy captivated the hearts and minds of viewers outside of the black community as well as inside the black community. The show ended up being more successful than her music career and this led to Brandy taking a break from the music. The show was set to last long past 2001 until fighting ended the show.

Amidst rumors of Brandy being pregnant and her constant fights with cast-mates, UPN cut their losses as the show plummeted in the ratings. With no sitcom carrying her, Brandy returned to her music and created the futuristic Full Moon album. Even after releasing her album, she still longed to star in a sitcom. In 2005, there were rumors of her starring in a sitcom on The WB. Three years later, there were rumors of Brandy starring in a sitcom on The CW. Even last year, it was said that she would star in an ABC sitcom.

With all of those rumors, nothing has come yet. Perhaps hoping that something will come of these rumors, Brandy has said herself that she wants a new sitcom to star in. Now that such networks as BET, TV One, and True Black Television are in the market for new original sitcoms, she may land a deal for a new program.

Monica ends feud with Brandy

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Following their hit collaboration, "The Boy is Mine," a feud erupted between Monica and Brandy. Their collaboration sparked many comparisons between the two singers. Because of their youth, people were able to turn them against each other. They have feuded for some time since their 1998 hit collaboration.

However, recently, Brandy was talking about putting together her comeback album. She said that she has to follow the new standard of female R&B. When questioned about what that new standard was, Brandy said Monica. Putting their feud aside, Brandy said that Still Standing was a great album and that Monica set a new standard.

While the comments made by Brandy were probably simply comments, it was enough for Monica to put their feud to rest. She thanked Brandy for the praise and they ended their feud and now Monica wants to collaborate. As evidenced on her new series, "Family Business," Brandy is working on a new album. Having been out of the spotlight, she would benefit from a Monica cameo.

The two have only had one talk about reuniting, so nothing is official. However, if the two were to reunite for a new song, it would be a sequel of their 1998 hit, "The Boy is Mine." But, with that said, Monica and Brandy were talking of "ifs" and not "whens." There is a strong possiblity that the two do not end up recording a track together for a long time in the future. However, it is clear that the two are friends again. They have been spotted sharing each other's company in public.
