In front of the camera, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson often plays the role of a tough woman. She rose to fame for her role on the critically-acclaimed HBO series, "The Wire." On the show, Pearson played the role of a hitwoman.

Following the cancellation of "The Wire," Pearson continued to be cast in those type of roles. In 2008, she was featured as a drug-runner in Rick Ross' video, "The Boss." Throughout the summer of 2008 and into the summer of 2009, Pearson played these roles in music videos.

Things became too real, however, when Felicia Pearson was brought up on drug charges. Pearson recently appeared in court over the charges. When she pled, she pled 'Not Guilty' of the charges. Pearson refused to comment when asked about the charges.

Last month, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson was released on $50,000 bail. Because she has been cast in a movie in the middle of the charges, Felicia Pearson has been granted permission to go to Philadelphia. Aside from her work, Felicia Pearson is not allowed to leave the city of Baltimore, her native city.

Young Jeezy was almost cast for HBO's "Entourage"

HBO has always held a special place in the heart of the black community. While not being a network marketed as a "black network," it often featured many black programs. HBO has changed with the times, too. When hip hop became the focal point of the black community, HBO made the shift.

One program in particular, "Entourage," has become a favorite with viewers. The show works closely with the hip hop community. New York rapper, Saigon, landed a starring role on the series as himself. The rapper was having a hard time trying to release his debut album and the show kept him afloat.

Saigon's role on the show helped him gain his cult following. He partially owes the show for his hype. Saigon is definitely glad he appeared on the show with his album finally coming. While Sai is counting his blessings, the show's producer told a major secret. Saigon's lucrative deal almost did not happen because they were interested in another rapper.

Before proposing to Saigon, HBO first reached out to Young Jeezy. Because he was a relatively new rapper, Jeezy was highly interested. Had he not became a rapper, Young Jeezy would have become an actor in some capacity. He had always loved the cameras, but it was not meant to be. Def Jam heard about Jeezy being cast and they told HBO, Young Jeezy may not be the right guy. Due to his schedule, he might not have been able to be on set each time they needed him.

In a round-about way, Saigon owes a bit of his success to Def Jam. After not landing Young Jeezy, HBO heard a song with Saigon and Jay-Z and cast him to be in "Entourage."

Idris Elba prepares for a Big 2011

For the past few years, Idris Elba has been making moves to break into the limelight. He has starred in HBO's "The Wire" and has shared screen time with Denzel Washington and Beyonce. With all of this behind him, Elba is credited as a great supporting actor.

Being a supporting actor is great, but Idris Elba sees something better for himself. Elba has put in work behind the scenes in 2010 to become one of the leading male actors of 2011. Currently, he is working on Thor, in which he will portray God.

Idris Elba's role in Thor has received negative press from white supremacists. Despite the negative energy, Idris Elba is loving the attention. He feels that every great actor needs a pack of haters diminishing their every move.

The film will premiere in 2011 and it will definitely attract a major audience, which is a win-win for him regardless. With the film almost promising a major audience, more people will see Idris Elba's talents and he will land more movie roles. Idris Elba feels 2011 will be the first year of great things for him. Back in 2007, he starred alongside Denzel Washington in American Gangster afterwhich he was compared to the legend.

Elba loves comparisons, but he wants to be known as a great actor in his own right. Even with Thor in post-production, he will star in more films which are scheduled for 2011 and 2012.
