Eighteen years later, Mary J. Blige covered the song for her sophomore album, My Life. The remake was produced by Diddy, then known as Puff Daddy. Through Blige, the song became a hit, once again, early in 1995.
Seventeen years after the re-release, Keyshia Cole covered Blige's version at a recent performance. Throughout her career, Cole has been compared to Mary J. Blige. Keyshia Cole has denied the comparisons, saying she is only trying to tell her story.
