LisaRaye ready to show TV One "The Real McCoy"

Recently, TV One has been trying to expand its original programming. Ever since its creation, six years ago, the network has been known for its syndicated programs and lackluster original series. Meanwhile, BET, the top competitor to TV One, began hitting its stride after the black community took the network head on in 2007. Now, that network has become known for its reality shows that follow black celebrities.

Last summer, TV One revealed that they would be giving LisaRaye McCoy her own reality show. She has been one of the faces of the network for the past few years. Former UPN sitcom, "All of Us," airs on TV One in syndication. Among the stars of that sitcom is LisaRaye. Because viewers of TV One are already familiar with her, the network gave her a series of her own.

The show is based on LisaRaye and her life since her high-profile divorce from Michael Misick. The series will also follow her as she tries to reach a divorce settlement, open a boutique, and fight off the many rumors that have surrounded her. There will also be cameo appearances from Rev. Al Sharpton, among other minor celebrities. This new series will premiere onn TV One on April 8, 2010 at 10:00 pm.
