Dwyane Wade speaks on Shaq/Lauren London rumors

Saturday, August 27, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

During Shaquille O'Neal's tenure with the Miami Heat, it was often stated how close he and Dwyane Wade were. After a huge falling out with Kobe Bryant, many felt as if Wade were nothing more than a replacement for Bryant. However, by 2006, Dwyane Wade had already built a name for himself.

Dwyane Wade led the Miami Heat to a championship and quickly became the biggest star in the NBA. The success was short-lived, however, after he divorced his wife. Soon, the losses mounted up and the team fell apart. During his downtime, Dwyane Wade began dating movie star, Gabrielle Union.

The couple has been together for three years, but now there are rumors of Dwyane Wade being a cheater. A series of emails, exchanged between Shaquille O'Neal and Allison Samuels, revealed women who had relations with Dwyane Wade and O'Neal's own preference of women. In the exchange, Shaq tells Samuels he does not want to be with Lauren London because she was with Dwyane Wade, his friend/teammate.

Threatening his three-year relationship with Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade told people there was no truth to the story. Wade said, via Twitter, that he and Lauren London are like brother and sister. Dwyane Wade also said not to believe everything you read.

Kobe Bryant defends LeBron James against critics

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

By Sports Authority
JR Staff Writer

The Miami Heat added Chris Bosh and LeBron James to their roster to help their struggling star, Dwyane Wade. While James, and two-time NBA Finals MVP, Kobe Bryant, were winning 50-plus games each year and having deep playoff runs, Wade's teams were winning 40-plus games and losing early in the playoffs.

While LeBron James and his teams did well in the regular season and early playoff rounds, they lost when it counted the most. In 2010, there were no more excuses for James. The spotlight was all on him and his team. When they lost in the second round, to Boston, the critics got louder and louder.

The early exit in the 2010 playoffs helped facilitate LeBron James' move to Miami. Dwyane Wade, who had not won a playoff series since the Heat's title run in 2006, was glad to see two of his best friends join the Heat. But, from the start of the season, LeBron James was seemingly trying to out-do Wade, often making sure he did not touch the ball in some possessions, costing the Heat important games.

By the playoffs, it seemed as if the Miami Heat had found a happy medium between their two stars and even their third wheel, Chris Bosh. When the NBA Finals came, Dwyane Wade helped Miami close out the opening game with a win. Dwyane Wade had a spectactular game two and seemingly single-handedly gave the win to Miami. But, LeBron James ended up costing the Heat game two with selfish, careless, play towards the end of the game. Throughout the rest of the series, James' play was up-and-down.

While not needed in the "star" role, he was needed to be one of the biggest contributors on the floor, but he was not, for some reason. His attempts to rebuild his own game, hindered Wade and cost the Heat a championship they were on their way to cruising to. Because of this, LeBron James has been blasted by the media for a third season in a row. Ever since 2008, the media has been trying to create a rivalry between James and Kobe Bryant.

Due to James' inability to win when it counts, the rivalry has not yet had a playoff game. With James now a part of the Miami Heat, it seems as if the rivalry will never come. Despite this, he and Kobe Bryant have become good friends. Tired of the bad press on LeBron James, Kobe Bryant told the media to lay off of him. Despite preparing for his ninth season in the NBA, LeBron James is only 26-years-old. Many of the legends of the game did not win until they were at least 30, or more, and some never won.

Last year, Monica and Shannon Brown had almost everything they could have asked for. Monica released a successful comeback album and Shannon Brown won his second NBA championship. At the time, life was fantastic for both of them.

While 2011 has not been a bad year for the couple, it could have been much better. Monica has not released any official new music this year. Meanwhile, Shannon Brown's Los Angeles Lakers fell early in the 2011 playoffs.

Usually, when things are not going well, people often say it is time to make something go well. Monica and Shannon Brown already got married earlier this year. Now, the couple had an official wedding with all of their family and friends.

On the court, things may be looking worse for Shannon Brown, as the NBA season may be locked out, like it was in 1998. Last year, Monica and Shannon Brown met on the set of her video, "Love All Over Me," and they immediately began dating. Within months, they were engaged and have wed this year. Monica hooked up with Shannon Brown after breaking up with rapper, Rocko.

For years, Shaquille O'Neal portrayed himself as the ultimate family man, despite being the face of the NBA. Anytime a person has money, their romantic life runs a high risk of being filled with various people. If a person has gotten their money through professional sports, they run a much higher risk.

In 2007, Shaquille O'Neal's seemingly perfect marriage came crashing down. During the late summer of 2007, it was revealed Shaunie O'Neal was cheating on Shaq with a helper for the Miami Heat. When the news was revealed, it was also said that Shaq was going to divorce his wife.

The news hit and suddenly disappeared and things almost went back to normal. But, during the late summer of 2008, it was revealed that the marriage was over. Full details surfaced online about how Shaq had been cheating on Shaunie O'Neal for years. Her affair in 2007 was only retaliation for all of the years she had been cheated on by Shaq.

A former associate of Shaquille O'Neal, Robert Ross, said there was a sextape of O'Neal floating around and he had copies. Because of this, Ross was reportedly beaten by gang members. Now, sources close to the situation say the sextape was a hoax and it never existed. Ross said he had footage of O'Neal, but he never made it into a sextape. O'Neal was questioned about the beating of Ross, but no evidence proved he was involved in the situation.

Shaq and Hoopz are the Happy Couple

Sunday, May 22, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

There have been rumors surrounding the relationship between NBA superstar, Shaquille O'Neal and Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander ever since they hooked up. O'Neal was in the middle of a nasty divorce from his wife, Shaunie, and Hoopz had nearly been forgotten, years past her VH1 days.

While Shaquille O'Neal has been with various women, he and Hoopz seemed to be a mismatch to most. Last year, there were rumors of O'Neal popping the question to Hoopz. Before the end of the year, stories said the two had broken up. The rumors suggested Shaq had demanded all his high-price gifts back.

Despite all of the rumors, Shaq and Hoopz have done well with each other. Perhaps their love of basketball is what has kept them together. Hoopz was still a child, playing basketball in her back yard when Shaquille O'Neal was breaking goals with the Orlando Magic. Things have definitely changed since then.

Even with the tough season, Shaq has been able to count on Hoopz being there for him. She has adjusted well to his lifestyle in front of the sports media. Often, Hoopz is mentioned by the sports announcers of ESPN and other sports outlets. For Hoopz, it is not too much of an adjustment being in front of the camera, as she starred in "Flavor of Love" and the original "I Love Money."

Before admitting to dating each other, Ciara was in a deep flirtation with 50 Cent. A source close to Ciara revealed she was weary about going father with 50 Cent. Right when she was ready to open up to the mogul, he began his flirtation with Chelsea Handler, chasing her away.

On the other hand, Amare Stoudemire was close to getting into a relationship with Amber Rose. Following her split from Kanye West, she has been with many different men. Among the men she was seeing was NBA baller, Amare Stoudemire. Stoudemire said he would like to go farther with her, but she would have to open up.

With trust being an issue with both of them, Amare Stoudemire and Ciara made the perfect couple. Last week, the two finally admitted they were dating each other. Following the announcement, the couple began making public appearances with each other. As Ciara was finally opening up to the New York Knick, he was sending texts to other women and cheating on her.

Reportedly, Stoudemire is known for sending pictures of his private parts to women he has sexual relations with. Despite having "settled down" with Ciara, he was still sending these pics out. However, he found himself in a jam when Ciara went through his phone and found pictures he had sent to women as recent as last month. Even though Stoudemire was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Ciara still gave him a second chance, remaining in the relationship.

Following his retirement from the NBA, Jalen Rose tried his hand at sports announcing. Quickly, he landed a job with ESPN and he has become a fan favorite. Rose played several years in the NBA and is known as one of the most-famous role players of all-time. Many often wonder if he is related to current NBA star, Derrick Rose.

ESPN has loved Jalen Rose over the past four years. Recently, he was given his own segment, in which he discusses the ongoings of the NBA. Jalen Rose always said his dream job was to play in the league. But, retiring from the NBA and landing a commentating job is likely his dream job.

Dwyane Wade wins Custody Battle over Two Sons

Monday, March 14, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

NBA superstar, Dwyane Wade, has reason to celebrate as he has picked up a major win. The Miami Heat have been impressive this season, but Wade's biggest win came off the court. For over a year, the 2006 NBA Finals MVP has been battling his ex-wife over custody of their two sons.

Growing up in Chicago, Dwyane Wade did not have much consistency. Initially, he lived with his mother and sister. One day, his sister sent him to live with his father across town. It was then when he met future Siohvaughn Wade. Because of problems with his older stepbrothers and father, Dwyane moved in with her.

Early in his NBA career, Dwyane Wade was portrayed as the young family man. Often, Wade would be shown playing with his oldest son before games. When Wade announced the birth of his second son, things were supposed to turn out for the best. Instead, Wade suffered near career-ending injuries, his team suffered devastating losses and he and his wife decided to end their marriage.

Following a rough year, Dwyane Wade put his life back together. Soon, he returned to the court and his team began to win again. Many analysts viewed Wade as the NBA's best player. Off the basketball court, Wade continued to be a consistent father. He also began dating Gabrielle Union and she became a part of the boys' life. Siohvaughn Wade has problems with that part. She felt Dwyane and Gabby were a little too close to be around children. Witnessing the way they embrace each other, she filed for full custody of the boys.

Dwyane Wade filed a countersuit and the trial began. After a year and a half of battling, Dwyane Wade won the case and is ready to move on with his life.

Trouble in Paradise as the Miami Heat struggle

Thursday, March 10, 2011

By Sports Authority
JR Staff Writer

The Miami Heat have been the most-scrutinized team in the history of the NBA. When LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers, a team he had turned into a championship contender, in order to join the Miami Heat, led by Dwyane Wade, he lost much respect.

Wade spent his career under the shadow of LeBron James, despite having a more successful career. In his first three seasons in the NBA, Dwyane Wade was arguably better than James. In his third season, he had led the Heat to a championship.

However, injuries limited Dwyane Wade's performance for the next two seasons. By the time he returned to full strength, the team was no longer a contender. Dwyane Wade spent two seasons being a great player on a horrible team.

Chris Bosh was stuck in a similar position with the Toronto Raptors. Bosh had become an incredible big man, but he played under the shadow of Vince Carter. Following Carter's departure, Bosh turned the Raptors into a playoff contender. But, by 2010, Chris Bosh acknowledged the fact that he needed some help. Many sports outlets suggested Bosh leave Toronto to play in Miami with Dwyane Wade.

LeBron James had been chosen by many as the next Michael Jordan. While James had been spectactular, he never did well in the clutch. By 2008, the Cleveland Cavaliers were favorites to win the NBA championship each year. Each year, James had the Cavaliers close, but when it came down to the wire, he was unable to pull of the same tricks Wade was able to.

The pressure was on James to win in 2010, but his team suffered a surprising and embarrassing loss at the hands of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics had embarrassed the Heat in the previous round, giving birth to the newest Heat rivalry. During the summer of 2010, Chris Bosh joined the Miami Heat, instantly making them contenders. Then, LeBron James left Cleveland in order to join the Heat too.

With three of the NBA's best players playing in the NBA's favorite city, many people became overnight fans of the Miami Heat. The pressure was immediately placed on this new team, with them facing Boston on the first night of the season. All of the talent in the world could not save them from an embarrassing loss in the big three's first game together.

For the most part, it has gone unsaid, but the Miami Heat's struggles are mainly to blame on LeBron James, the "superstar" of the team. After seven years in Cleveland, James was the go-to guy. But, in the clutch, he left his city hanging year after year. Meanwhile, when healthy, Dwyane Wade pulled off magic tricks in order for the Miami Heat to get that extra win (Dallas 2006 NBA Finals).

Wade, entering his eighth season with the Heat, was the all-time leader in most categories. But, from the start, LeBron James has been trying to assert himself as the "new leader" of this team. When the Heat have had success, a stretch in which they went 22-1, it was because of Wade leading the team. However, once the Heat were playing well, LeBron James wanted to "lead" again.

The selfish play of LeBron James has cost them a great deal of the games they lost. On opening night, James did score 31 points, but he was never hot. Dwyane Wade got off to a slow start and LeBron James made sure he did not heat up. There was a play in which Wade was wide open for a dunk and James held the ball and forced a shot up. With a given closer on the team, he should pass more.

Yes, LeBron James is a two-time MVP, but Dwyane Wade is the leader of Miami. But, when the cameras are on, it is James trying to be the hero. He has cost Miami winnable games against Orlando twice, Atlanta, Chicago twice, Boston three times, New York twice, and Dallas twice. Now, with five consecutive losses, the other players on the Heat, Wade and Bosh, are getting vocal.

LeBron James taking over the Miami Heat should not be an issue now. As the undisputed king of Miami coming into the season, Dwyane Wade should have made things clear. LeBron can be the two-time MVP all he wants to be, but Miami is still his house. Instead, Wade played the humble role and now James has become an even bigger ball-hogging monster.

Perhaps, if there was another team meeting to discuss the roles of each player on the team, the Heat can put something together to at least win 55 games on the season. If they work something out now, they might be able to put together a solid playoff run. But, things are not looking good for the Miami Heat. From the way things seem, a team with three superstars will be losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Drake lands role in LeBron James' animated sitcom

Friday, February 18, 2011

By TV Insider
JR Staff Writer

A few years ago, LeBron James had an entertaining series of commercials, promoting his Nike shoes. The series was called "The LeBrons," featuring several male family members. Each member of the family was played by LeBron James. Following the 2006-2007 season, the commercials stopped airing.

In the midst of a sharp decline in his popularity, LeBron James is working to regain the people's favor. The NBA star recently revived his popular commercials in the form of an animated series. This time around, LeBron James will have more creative input. He has recruited the ever-popular Drake to be in the series.

LeBron James will be promoting teamwork and staying in school in this new series. Throughout his career, LeBron James has received negative criticism for being a bollhog, most notable during his recent stint with the Miami Heat, and for also skipping college, going straight to the NBA. While James made his decision for his own reasons, he wants the children looking up to him to do better.

In 2009, Drake assisted LeBron James with the soundtrack for his More Than a Game movie. The hit single, "Forever," was inspired by LeBron James' seemingly magical play on the basketball court. The two hope to be doing more work with each other in the future.

By TV Insider

In 2006 and 2008, Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander, proved to be too much for VH1. She won Flavor Flav's heart during the first season of "Flavor of Love." Behind the scenes, the couple did not make it. She returned to VH1 and won "I Love Money" and the heart of Real.

Ever since her stint on "I Love Money," Hoopz has been out of the public eye. She has been romantically linked to several athletes. In 2009, Hoopz was rumored to be dating NFL superstar, Chad Ochocinco. Last spring, she confirmed her relationship with Shaquille O'Neal.

No longer a dominant force in the game, O'Neal is now a reserve for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are his third team in as many years. Currently, he is signed to a two-year contract with the team and Hoopz lives with him in Boston. The new reality show will focus on Hoopz as she lives the life of the girlfriend of an NBA star and works as a sports trainer.

Hoopz and Shaq met in 2006, right after her stint on "Flavor of Love." At the time, Shaq was happily married to Shaunie O'Neal and Hoopz was involved with Flavor Flav. Carmelo Anthony done at Denver?

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

By Sports Authority
JR Staff Writer

While under the shadow of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, there was another man drafted in 2003. Carmelo Anthony changed the fortunes of a team in one season. The Denver Nuggets had settled as one of the NBA's worst teams for well over five years. Their fortunes changed when they drafted Anthony.

In one season, Anthony led the Nuggets from the cellar to the playoffs, losing in the first round to Minnesota. The next five years would have similar endings, first round losses. On the other side of the league, however, Dwyane Wade led the Miami Heat to a championship. LeBron James became a two-time MVP.

Even with all their accomplishments, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James teamed up to win titles together. They could not do what Carmelo had done for seven years, make the playoffs each season. It would be the summer of 2010 that forever changed the NBA's landscape. Carmelo Anthony has a guaranteed playoff spot in Denver, but a small chance of winning an NBA championship.

After seeing LeBron James and Chris Bosh jump ship for Miami, Carmelo Anthony has strongly considered leaving his longtime team in Denver. Many people compare Anthony to Kevin Garnett, who stayed with his team despite losing in the first round seven straight seasons. The Denver Nuggets are looking to make space on the roster instead of taking on more contracts. Because of this, it would be better for Anthony's championship dreams if he found a new team elsewhere.

During the summer, the New York Knicks tried to make a deal for him and the New Jersey Nets are currently trying to make a deal for him. In 2006, Carmelo Anthony said he would remain in Denver for the rest of his career. But, after eight years, it is looking like his career will be wasted on a team that is getting worse by the day.

LeBron James wins second MVP award

Monday, May 3, 2010

Ever since he first arrived in the NBA right out of high school, LeBron James has been compared to the legendary Michael Jordan. Growing up, James idolized Jordan and he has modeled aspects of his game around the legend. Because Jordan wore the number 23 jersey, James decided to wear the number 23 jersey.

However, until last year, LeBron James was not very Jordan-like. It was not until he pulled his team together and led his Cleveland Cavaliers to a league-best 66-16 record that people began to realize how great James is. In the 2009 NBA playoffs, James led his team to two sweeps over both the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks. Those efforts were rewarded with the MVP.

Following his heartbreaking loss to the Orlando Magic in the conference finals, LeBron James shifted his focus to the next season. The goal throughout this season has been to win the NBA championship. Unlike last season, his team fell short of 66 wins, but they still managed to post the best record in the league. Led by LeBron, the Cavs won 61 games.

While the focus for this season is to win the NBA title, LeBron James has elevated his play, but his team is not quite as smooth. In the first round against the Chicago Bulls, James led his team to a victory in five games, as opposed to a sweep. Still, James set the bar so high last season that he does not have to accomplish all that he accomplished last season.

LeBron James did not lead his team to as many victories last season as he has this season, but he still led his team to the top of the league standings. Because of that, LeBron James has won his second MVP award in as many seasons.
