50 Cent returns to Television Screens

Saturday, April 30, 2011

By TV Insider
JR Staff Writer

In 2008, 50 Cent landed the opportunity of a lifetime when MTV gave him his own reality show. The show was created in the vein of the Diddy-themed reality shows. Titled "The Money and the Power," 50 Cent was playing the role of Donald Trump. Several contestants competed for a role with G-Unit.

Despite having a good premise, the show failed to connect with the viewers. Reality shows do not survive off plot, instead they make it off the stars. Some people have and some people do not. 50 Cent did not and the show did not make it. As quickly as it was put on the air, MTV pulled the show.

50 Cent was in the middle of a label dispute with Interscope, so he was already suffering from hard times. Always confident in the eyes of the media, 50 Cent shrugged it off. He said he really did not need the show or his label because of the millions he had. While this was true, 50 Cent had hoped the show would provide promotion for his latest album.

Putting the previous show in the past, 50 Cent is now in business with VH1. With a different network comes a different type of program. 50 Cent will be starring in a program called "The Origin of Me." The show details 50 Cent as he searches his roots. "The Origin of Me" will premiere on VH1 on May 23.

Rihanna to appear on "American Idol" this week

Sunday, April 10, 2011

By The Music Scoop

It seems as if Rihanna is one of the busiest women in show business, as she is always on the move. Rihanna has barely had any time off since she release 2009's Rated R. The Def Jam singer has done several collaborations, appeared in advertising campaigns, and had beef with Donald Trump.

Now, the latest rumors say Rihanna is going to continue her run into next week. Only a few hours into the day, Rihanna is said to have an appearance on "American Idol." Last week, the show featured former contestant, Jennifer Hudson. Adam Lambert also made an appearance last week.

The biggest "American Idol" rumors have Kelly Clarkson, a former winner, returning to the show to perform. Clarkson has made a few appearances on "Idol" since making it big. But, in recent years, she has been away from the show, as she has had several products to put together. Rumors suggest "Idol" will pull of a Clarkson return and an appearance from Rihanna.

Despite losing major players, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, "American Idol" has continued to roll as one of television's highest-rated programs. Much of this has to do with the addition of Jennifer Lopez, a superstar in her own right, as one of the judges. Regardless of who makes a guest appearance on "American Idol," the show is always guaranteed one celebrity appearance.

Lil Jon denies being a part of "Club Lil Jon" porno film

Friday, April 8, 2011

Despite his eccentric style, Lil Jon is considered one of the smartest men in hip hop. He used his "crunk" style to his advantage and he dominated the charts for three years consecutively. Along the way, he helped revive E-40's career and reintroduce Too $hort.

Lil Jon was successful because he was willing to work outside of the box. While most rappers were focusing on clothing lines and shoe deals, Lil Jon was focused on Crunk Juice. He took his label, BME, to the top, but he did it with an independent distributor.

Along the way, Lil Jon also got into the movie business. But, he was not doing movies like most rappers. Instead, Lil Jon focused on doing porno flicks. These films were major successes and he wanted to put more together, as he is preparing his reintroduction to the game. But, his role on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" has Lil Jon re-thinking his image.

For years, Lil Jon has been rugged with his image and now he is trying to tone things down. Currently, major corporate big-wigs are scouting Lil Jon because of his Trump connections. Because of this, Lil Jon is making himself look as professional as possible. The first move the Atlanta producer made was getting rid of his film ventures. Despite producing the Club Lil Jon flick, Lil Jon has cut all ties with the video and he has refused to promote it. The film company, however, will continue to promote it.

Lil Jon donates "Celebrity Apprentice" earnings to Children's Home

Nearly a decade ago, Lil Jon rose from seemingly nowhere to take over the rap game. T.I. had labeled himself the King of the South and teamed up with Lil Jon. Jon was also from Atlanta and he also called himself a king. For those who remember, Lil Jon was the King of Crunk.

Lil Jon had grown so popular he had his own line of drink, which was called 'Crunk Juice.' The Atlanta producer had risen to become a force in the game. He signed E-40 and helped him rise to mainstream fame for the first time in his fifteen year career. But, his 2006 run would prove to be his last.

It was not until Donald Trump called on Lil Jon did most fans realize the game had been missing something. Most of the post-2006 songs on the radio were lacking Lil Jon's trademark sounds of "WHAT!" and "OK!" Lil Jon turned heads on Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" series because of his sharp business acumen.

Many failed to realize how skilled of a businessman Lil Jon actually is. While wearing the goofy clothes and making outrageous sounds, Lil Jon was making an incredible amount of money. Most of his profits went back into his BME label, which had several artists signed under him. Lil Jon used the same business tactics for "Celebrity Apprentice" and did well in the contest. His team recently won and Lil Jon pocketed a total of $40,000 for being a part of the team.

Already rich, Lil Jon took these earnings and donated them to a children's home in Decatur, Georgia.

NeNe Leakes and Star Jones find truce

Friday, March 18, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood

Ever since she rose to fame on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," NeNe Leakes has been known for her aggressive attitude. It does not come as much of a shock to discover she is feuding with someone. When she joined "Celebrity Apprentice," most knew it was only a matter of time before she found a rival.

With Omarosa now working in her own ventures, billionaire developer, Donald Trump, has been in need of a new female sidekick. NeNe Leakes has gladly stepped up in order to fill that void. But, Star Jones, a woman with a television history much longer than Leakes', is also in the running. From the start, the media pitted the two ladies against each other.

Throughout most of the filming for the show, Leakes and Jones gave in to what the media wanted and had on-air disputes. In the media, the women have taken turns disrespecting each other. The feud has been the source of much entertainment over the past few weeks, but it has not been entertaining for NeNe Leakes and Star Jones. Many television shows want Leakes in the cast because of her attitude. But, she is also limited because most people think NeNe Leakes has trouble getting along with other people.

Earlier this month, there were rumors of NeNe Leakes possibly being removed from the cast of the popular series, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Despite being one of the original cast members of the show, her attitude was too much to bear. Ever since the start, NeNe has had problems with Kim Zolciak, but it was also said that she was going against the executive producers. It was said that if Leakes did not change her attitude, she would find herself ousted from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Possibly, because of this, she has been working on her attitude.

After months of feuding with each other, NeNe Leakes and Star Jones have put their differences aside and decided to work on becoming friends. Bigger than everything else, they are two black women and it looks bad when they cannot get along on television. Rumors say this was the main reason the two decided to put an end to their silly feud.

Omarosa becomes a Pastor

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood
JR Staff Writer

In 2004, Omarosa rose to fame with Donald Trump's help during the first season of "The Apprentice." While she did not win the competition, she became a celebrity. Omarosa was known for being the toughest woman on the show. She soon landed a role on the VH1 series, "The Surreal Life."

During her time on "The Surreal Life," Omarosa caused more controversy. She met her match in Janice Dickinson. The two immediately disliked each other. Usually, Omarosa was the dominant person on the reality shows. But, Dickinson found ways to get under her skin.

In 2009, Omarosa offered an apology to Dickinson and the two moved past their feud. Soon, Omarosa found herself with another job, working for Donald Trump. The real estate mogul partnered with TV One for a dating series, called "The Ultimate Merger." The show included several men who offered business proposals in order to win Omarosa's heart.

While she did not find love on camera, Omarosa successfully fell in love off camera and turned down Trump's offer to do a second season. Omarosa now has it all and she has found God to top everything else off. Recently, she earned her pastor's license and she was hired as an assistant pastor for Weller Street Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles. Omarosa has been dating Michael Clarke Duncan and she says her days of drama are in the past because she is saved for real.

Rihanna disses Donald Trump and he is Not Pleased

Monday, February 21, 2011

By Mr. Hollywood

Donald Trump is used to having things his way. The man has spent the past forty years building a multi-billion dollar empire and has branched out into the media. For seven years, Trump has been known for the phrase "you're fired." Recently, the mogul said the opposite to Rihanna.

Rihanna was hired by The Donald to perform at a cancer fundraiser in Florida. Not only did he pay her in advance, but she was paid $500,000 for the event. Donald Trump needed her star power in order to promote the event. Over the years, Trump has aligned himself with many celebrities.

The event took place last night and Rihanna decided she was no longer interested. Most of her celebrity friends were in Los Angles, watching the NBA All-Star Game. Because of this, Rihanna decided to bail on Donald Trump's event and attend the All-Star Game. The brash decision has left the real estate mogul highly upset.

Donald Trump is used to having things his way, first off. But, even if he does lose out, he likes to know in ample time. Rihanna cancelled on him less than 24 hours before her performance. Because of that, Trump is raging mad at her and has called her out. Trump is also upset at the angle she used to get out of performing at the event. She informed him that she was sick and unable to perform, but she was soon spotted in LA with the stars, watching basketball.

Jennifer Hudson replaced Rihanna at the event.

Toccara Jones to star in Donald Trump's dating show

Monday, January 17, 2011

By TV Maverick
JR Staff Writer

Last year, Donald Trump partnered with TV One for the hit reality television series, "The Ultimate Merger." The show was a ratings success with appearances from Al B. Sure. Omarosa, a former contestant on Trump's "The Apprentice," found love off camera and is unwilling to do a second season.

Toccara Jones rose to fame after her participation on "America's Next Top Model." Despite not winning the contest, Jones built a strong male following. She carried this following with her to the VH1 series, "Celebrity Fit Club." After her appearance on "Fit Club," her career began to really take off.

Since her time on TV, Toccara has landed modeling gigs and a job with BET. In many ways, her loss on "America's Next Top Model" was actually an even bigger win. Toccara Jones recently guest-starred on Ice Cube's hit TBS series, "Are We There Yet?" Following her appearance in Vogue, in 2008, things have been rather quiet from Toccara Jones.

Now, Toccara Jones' career has received the ultimate boost since Donald Trump has asked her to star in another season of his "The Ultimate Merger." Despite her time with BET, Jones will be working for rival network, TV One.
