Rihanna to appear on "American Idol" this week

Sunday, April 10, 2011

It seems as if Rihanna is one of the busiest women in show business, as she is always on the move. Rihanna has barely had any time off since she release 2009's Rated R. The Def Jam singer has done several collaborations, appeared in advertising campaigns, and had beef with Donald Trump.

Now, the latest rumors say Rihanna is going to continue her run into next week. Only a few hours into the day, Rihanna is said to have an appearance on "American Idol." Last week, the show featured former contestant, Jennifer Hudson. Adam Lambert also made an appearance last week.

The biggest "American Idol" rumors have Kelly Clarkson, a former winner, returning to the show to perform. Clarkson has made a few appearances on "Idol" since making it big. But, in recent years, she has been away from the show, as she has had several products to put together. Rumors suggest "Idol" will pull of a Clarkson return and an appearance from Rihanna.

Despite losing major players, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, "American Idol" has continued to roll as one of television's highest-rated programs. Much of this has to do with the addition of Jennifer Lopez, a superstar in her own right, as one of the judges. Regardless of who makes a guest appearance on "American Idol," the show is always guaranteed one celebrity appearance.

If anyone said going after their dreams were easy, they were lying. For well over five years, Renaldo Price has been fighting for hid dreams. In 2002, he was a contestant on "American Idol." Despite having the talent, Price was not the winner.

Instead of getting upset, Renaldo Price understood it was just not his time. Because of this, we went back into the studio and sharpened his game. Now, working independently, he has everything working out in his favor.

While Renaldo Price is not nationally known, yet, he is well on his way to getting there. Not only does Price sing, but he also works a full-time job. Renaldo Price would love to officially hit the big time, but if things do not go as planned, he has something in his back pocket to take care of his children. The wait has been nearly ten years, but Renaldo recently filmed a music video for "Forever" that will end up being played on several websites. Following the release of the video will be the official release of his A Man Like Me EP.

All of the years of hard work and patience are paying off for Renaldo Price, as he hopes to be signed to a major label sometime in the near future.

Cee Lo may be a judge on "The Voice"

Ever since 2009, NBC has been revamping its programming, due to the low ratings. The network has been steadily losing viewers for nearly eight years. In order to bring more viewers to the network, NBC's new programs have been featuring more black characters. This spring, NBC has plans of bringing more shows to the network.

NBC is preparing to begin airing a singing competition show later this spring. The show will be called "The Voice" and it will feature people singing songs. These singers will be judged by music industry insiders and casting is still taking place for judges. Among the people being cast as a judge is Cee Lo.

After being overlooked for years, Cee Lo rose to the top of the game last year. His single, "Fuck You," grabbed listeners ears with the aggressive title. But, after it was censored to "Forget You," the song won over pop culture and made Cee Lo a pop icon. He had been recording for years, but he never had much recognition outside of the R&B community. With one song, this has all changed.

Aside from Cee Lo, NBC has also approached Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, and others. The show is being compared to the FOX hit, "American Idol." But, instead of winning a record deal, the winner of the contestant will win $100,000 in cash. On "The Voice," the judges must listen to the contestants while their back is facing them, so they only judge based on their voice. Adam Levine, of Maroon 5, has already agreed to join the cast of the series, along with an unnamed female singer.

While they aim to have fun during their appearance, Barack and Michelle are there on business. The episode has already taped, but their appearance is to help raise money.

The Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation, are the foundations that the fundraisers are for. The episode will air on April 21, 2010.
