Mya to auction off Date for Charity

A few years have passed since Mya last released an album. Still, she has kept her name in the media. Mya had a prominent role on the hit ABC series, "Dancing with the Stars." Many argued she should have won during the fall of 2009.

Outside of music, Mya is passionate about animal rescue and for the betterment of animals, she is willing to go to great lengths. Mya followed the footsteps of Mary J. Blige to team up with charitybuzz.com to set up a charity of her own.

To promote the cause, Mya is auctioning off a date to the highest bidder. The date would take place at one of the high-end restaurants in New York City. All of the proceeds would go to North Shore Animal League America. They are the largest no-kill animal rescue organization in America.

Later this year, Mya intends to get back into music with the release of her album, K.I.S.S. (Keep it Sexy & Simple).
