Terrence Howard sued over Unpaid Royalties

Terrence Howard has been around for years, having minor roles in several big-name films. Howard has even had guest appearances on many black sitcoms. But, it was not until his role on the 2005 breakout hit, Hustle & Flow, when he truly became a star.

Following his role with Hustle & Flow, Terrence Howard landed roles in many other movies. Howard was cast in many more hip hop films. Each of the films went on to become a success, landing more awards for Howard and more money. Before this winning streak, Terrence Howard cut a deal and it is now time to pay.

Early in his career, Terrence Howard's manager was his then-wife, Lori Howard. When his career became too much, Lori arranged for Victoria Frederick to take over as Howard's manager. Frederick took on the role of being his personal manager, dealing with lawyers, agents, and publicists.

Not set up on a payscale, Victoria Frederick was to receive 10% of all Terrence Howard's earnings through this period of time. As long as she was managing his career, Frederick was to receive 10% of the profits he generated. During this period of time, Frederick remained Howard's manager and he made a substantial amount of money. However, Victoria Frederick was not compensated out of this. The lawsuit claims he also agreed to pay residuals for the roles she booked for him even after she stopped being his manager.

Frederick claims Howard refused to pay her commissions before he officially fired her in 2010. She landed him roles in Get Rich or Die Tryin', Idlewild, and Hustle & Flow.
