Sanaa Lathan discusses Maid Gig before Acting Career

Sanaa Lathan is one of the biggest names on the black entertainment circuit. While she is one of the biggest names, it took a lot of work in order for her to reach this level. Before acting, Lathan did whatever she could in order to make a living.

In an interview with Black Enterprise, Sanaa Lathan revealed her first job was as a maid. She worked for an older man who lived in the same building as her. Lathan would clean his house and do other odd jobs for the man.

Most people, especially those of her stature, would take shame in something like this being revealed. In spite of all that she has accomplished, Sanaa Lathan is still very humble. She realizes she is blessed to have all that she does.

Lathan said she has no shame in telling of where she came from. As a youngster, she got out and hustled, making an honest living. There should not be any shame in anyone working within the fringes of the law in order to make an extra buck.
