Ciara teams up with Ludacris again

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Early in her career, Ciara turned to Ludacris to appear on her debut album. At the time, Atlanta was still dominating hip hop and Atlanta was being run by Ludacris. They collaborated for the 2004 song, "Oh," which was a passing the torch type of collaboration. Upon the release of the single in the spring of 2005, it became a hit.

In the years since the release of "Oh," it has been hailed as a classic song. Five years later and the song still receives moderate airplay on radio stations across the South. Even with all of the hits that Ciara has created, in many circles, she is still known for this song. Perhaps, after five years of "Oh," she decided it was time for something new.

Last September, Ciara revealed that she was already working on her fourth studio album. Tricky Stewart and The-Dream revealed that they had been recording with her throughout the summer of 2009. In the time since they spoke of the album, all information has been under wraps. With the spring time here, Ciara released the first single.

Going back to basics, Ciara reunited with her "Oh" collaborator, Ludacris, for her new single, "Ride." A music video is in the works for the single. There is no set release date for the video, but it is being directed by Diane Martel. It is said that the filming for "Ride" has wrapped up, but there is no timeframe for the release of the video. Also, the upcoming fourth album from Ciara has no title or release date.
