Shemar Moore signs on for new "Criminal Minds" season

Fans have gotten used to seeing Shemar Moore in front of their television screens. Moore appeared in various commercials and music videos as a male model. This was before he began playing on the popular soap opera, The Young and the Restless.

Moore became known to die hard soap fans as Malcom Winters, a role he played from 1994 until 2005. He surprised viewers when he shunned the long-running soap for a role on Criminal Minds. While remaining a part of CBS, he left their flagship soap.

Over the past six years, Shemar Moore has continued to win over new fans. Playing the role of Derek Morgan, Moore has transitioned over well into primetime. For a little while, fans feared Moore may abandon Criminal Minds the way he did Y&R.

Recently, Moore signed a new contract with the series, doubling his pay and assuring fans he will be around for at least another year.

Diddy lands role with CBS series, "Hawaii Five-0"

When he first entered the game, Diddy presented himself as a businessman. Before the end of the 1990s, Diddy was already a millionaire due to Bad Boy Records. Towards the end of the decade, he had already doubled his worth through his clothing line, Sean John.

By the 2000s, Diddy was not only rapping and running businesses, he was also acting. The mogul has had minor roles in many films. Diddy has had starring roles in a few minor films and a popular role as himself in Get Him to the Greek. Diddy has guest-starred on many television series.

In 2010, Diddy guest-starred on CBS' hit, "CSI." The episode brought in a large audience. Diddy impressed many people with his strong acting skills. Always looking for more ways to make money, Diddy, began considering full-time acting. But, his busy schedule would not allow him to join a series, such as "CSI."

CBS and Diddy will be reunting when the Bad Boy CEO begins his role in "Hawaii Five-0" Diddy, birth name, Sean Combs, will portray the role of a law enforcement officer. Diddy will play the role of Reggie Williams in his first action role. Williams is in Hawaii in search of men who committed a crime against his family. Diddy has been practicing the usage of guns with the Navy S.E.A.L. to prepare for the role and many of his songs will be used for the role, which begins this spring.

LL Cool J named as Golden Globe presenter

Early in his career, LL Cool J did not envision being where he is today. LL Cool J is credited by many as the man who made rap mainstream. If he is not credited for that, no one can deny he helped Def Jam become the powerhouse that it is today.

Even when rap music became mainstream, many people did not believe it would last. LL Cool J helped make sure the genre lasted, as he has been there most of the way. As a rapper in the mid-1980s, he was still battling in the mid-1990s.

It was in the 1990s when LL Cool J branched outside of the hip hop world and into the television screen. In 1995, he starred in the NBC sitcom, "In the House." The show went on to become a major hit for UPN.

LL Cool J's role on "In the House" showed off his acting chops on a weekly basis. In the 2000s, LL Cool J landed multiple movie roles. Soon, he was known more for his acting roles than he was for his longtime career as a rapper. Two years ago, after a dispute with Def Jam, LL Cool J decided it was time for him to move on with his career, so he retired from rap. Now, LL is a full time actor on "NCIS: Los Angeles."

The show is currently in its third season on CBS and LL Cool J is routinely nominated for awards for his performance on the show. His popularity spans far outside of rap music now and he has proven himself marketable as an actor. This has not gone unnoticed by the Golden Globe Awards as LL Cool J has been added to the list of presenters at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards, along with Jada Pinkett Smith.

Ne-Yo cast as Hitman in "CSI: NY"

When he first came into the game, Ne-Yo knew he would be more than a songwriter. Soon, he branched out and became a force in R&B with his own solo music. Releasing a new album each year, the summers were known for Ne-Yo hits. But, he reached a new pinnacle after 2008's Year of the Gentlemen.

After the release of this album, Ne-Yo focused on acting and producing for other artists. For most of 2009, Ne-Yo was doing songs with other artists. When he was not producing, he was singing or doing videos. But, when the time came, Ne-Yo went back into the studio, but he had more plans.

Not only was Libra Scale going to be an album, it was also going to be a movie. The singer had plans of doing a video for every song and making it into an album. But, soon he realized the production costs and decided it would be best to hold off on the movie. So, the songs he did videos for, Ne-Yo decided to make them go in order to tell a short story.

Apparently, CBS has picked up on Ne-Yo's acting abilities as "CSI: NY" has cast him to play in an upcoming episode. Throughout his career, Ne-Yo has always portrayed himself as a clean cut overall good person. While he will remain clean cut in his designer suits, Ne-Yo will have a different role to play. Instead of being a good-guy, Ne-Yo will be playing the role of a hitman. This will be one true test in his acting career as Ne-Yo is used to being good and will now have to play bad.
