Lil Wayne goes to Prison

Monday, March 8, 2010

After avoiding prison for a month, Lil Wayne has finally began his prison term. The rapper was charged in July 2007 for the possession of guns and drugs on his bus in New York. November of the same year, he, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, and Remy Ma were all in court. Ironically, each of the rappers that appeared in court that day lost their case. Last year, Wayne was sentenced for one year behind bars.

Initially, Lil Wayne was supposed to have gone to prison last month on February 9. However, just as he was set to go to court, he had a mishap with his teeth. This brought the rapper an extra three weeks to prepare for his sentencing. Just as it was time for Wayne to return to court, the courthose caught on fire. When it came time for him to go back, last week, Ja Rule revealed that Lil Wayne would not be going. The courthose was still under repair from the fire, so he was rescheduled for March 8.

With the way everything was happening, it appeared as if something was going to happen to prevent Lil Wayne from going to court, earlier today. The New Orleans rapper was not as lucky this time around. He was sentenced to one year in prison earlier today. Unlike other rappers, such as T.I., Wayne has a plan to continue to release music, with the videos already filmed. When the songs are released, the videos will be released, too. Aside from rapping, Lil Wayne is the father of four children. Once he is done with his prison sentence, Wayne will be spending more time with his children.
