Nas removes tattoo of Kelis

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

When Nas married Kelis, in 2005, he went all out because he was in love with her. Much like many other rappers, Nas tried to be a playboy. Because of his money, he was able to truly live that lifestyle. But, after he began dating Kelis, she brought about a good change in him. Soon, his feud with Jay-Z ended and he would get a tattoo of Kelis' face on his arm.

Nas changed for the better for Kelis, but he could not avoid a feud with his former friend, 50 Cent. Angry because he did not side with him against Irv Gotti and Ja Rule, 50 Cent would diss his former ally. In 2005, 50 Cent decided to take on half of the industry in three verses. "Piggy Bank" was his vehicle and he also dissed Fat Joe, Ja Rule, and Jadakiss, aside from Nas.

In the song, he famously teases Nas for getting a tattoo of Kelis on his arm. Only two years before, Kelis made the promiscious song, "Milkshake." She implys her "milkshake" brings all of the boys to her yard. 50 Cent used the hook in the song to diss Nas and the tattoo. Nas would soon respond and Kelis responded in 2006. Now, Nas can look back on the diss from 50 Cent and laugh. Kelis had the milkshake to bring him to the yard, but he left and the tattoo is gone.

There was a time when he wanted to be able to see Kelis all of the time. Getting the tattoo was one way of being able to do this. But, after all she has put him through for the past year, Nas would not be trying to see her at all if it had not been for the child they created. Not wanting any more reminders of his failed relationship with Kelis, Nas has decided to cut all of his losses and get the tattoos removed from his arm. The tattoo has been partially removed because he wants to remember the good times.

Ray J wants Usher's spot

Recently, Usher has been on a tear. His album, Raymond v. Raymond has put him right back on top of the male R&B game. Ever since he first came into the game, Usher has been right around the top. While Usher has had a career filled with accomplishments, Ray J has been a backburner artist. At times, Ray J has charted memorable hits, but he has never had the spot.

Ray J has become popular for his appearances on various reality television shows. A lot of his fans did not realize he was actually a singer by nature. His role on "Moesha" in the late 1990s is what he is known for more so than his songs. Over the years, Ray J has been credited for his ability to both rap and sing. His 2001 album featured Ray J showing this off.

Despite being a decent rapper and a relatively popular singer, Ray J has yet to sell out the stores. More importantly, he has yet to create a memorable album. For the past few months, Ray J has been working hard to change all of this. He has gotten in contact with Rodney Jerkins, the man who helped Michael Jackson make a comeback. Jerkins has promised to deliver a classic album to Ray J. The only thing missing in his career is a classic album.

With the right producer behind him, Ray J knows he could easily rise to the same level and acclaim as such artists as Ne-Yo and Usher. After his music is released, later this year, Ray J is confident he will be sitting on top of the R&B game. Ray J is not looking to completely erase Usher, but he at least wants him to move over and make room for him at the top. There has never been in doubt in Ray J's mind that he was just as good, if not better, than the leading men in R&B. For the first time, he wants to prove this.

Reggie Bush reality show?

Reggie Bush was a hot topic for years leading up to his NFL debut. In 2006, he reached the peak of his career, becoming the face of ESPN for a few months. This concluded with him winning the Heisman Trophy and leading USC deep in the playoffs. While his team did not win a national championship, Bush was a lock in the NFL Draft.

The entire football world was angry when the Houston Texans decided against drafting Reggie Bush. Bush was hailed as the next great thing in football. People like Bush were expected to build franchises. At the time, the Texans were only in their fifth season and many felt they needed a star.

For the 2006 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints had this star and he led them to the NFC division finals. The Saints would come just short of their first-ever Super Bowl appearance. But, over the next few seasons, injuries limited Reggie Bush. Soon, he became more known for dating reality superstar, Kim Kardashian.

Their on and off relationship has taken quite a few wild turns over the past few months. Despite Bush being healthy, he is only a shell of what he was four years ago. Because of this, he may need an extra source of income. With his legal troubles mounting up, Reggie Bush could lose some of his endorsements. Even if he were to lose endorsements, he is still adored by fans and they would support a Reggie Bush reality show. NFL stars, Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco have shows on VH1.

Even with his limited time on the field, Reggie Bush is considered a bigger star than Owens and Ochocinco and he may want to use his popularity to create a reality show.

Terrell Owens returns to VH1

Last year, VH1 rolled out its 2009 schedule and Terrell Owens was added to the list of celebrity stars featured on the network. Owens rose to become one of the best players in the NFL. Along with his on-field style, Owens also developed a persona off of the field. This persona, named T.O., has given Owens a bad name all around. Most people assumed Terrell Owens was an all-around bad guy.

Owens proved these people wrong last summer, when "The T.O. Show" premiered for the first time. Outside of himself, Terrell Owens was shown to be a kind and caring friend. The stories about him and multiple women were surely true, but he actually had feelings for most of the women he was with. Most people saw chemistry between Owens and Kari Klinkenborg.

The first season ended on a cliffhanger between Terrell and Kari and the fans were waiting to see what happened next. Filming began right after the end of the 2009 NFL season. The second season will have a heavy focus on his move to Buffalo with the Bills and the reaction after they missed the playoffs. Owens was brought in to lead the team to the playoffs. But, all he could do was land them with a bad record. Along the way, he proved he was still among the best players in the league.

Now, with Terrell Owens currently involved in a soap opera regarding the next team he will play for, the cameras are rolling for eleven episodes. The second season should premiere later on this summer and he will have a new love interest this season.

Jay-Z slowed down for Beyonce

For years, Jay-Z has dominated the rap game from all sides. While he was still rising to the top, he released a song called "Big Pimpin'." On the song, he boasted of his multiple relationships with various women. In the song, Jay-Z raps of how no woman could ever make him change his ways. Forever, he was to remain a player.

Early in his career, Jay-Z was romantically involved with various women. When he first released Reasonable Doubt, he tried to portray a Mafioso image. The women helped to embrace the lifestyle. Long before he and Beyonce had ever met, he was often dating top models. However, none of these relationships would last.

From 1997 until 2000, Jay-Z was said to be dating Rosario Dawson and she was his first real love. But, their relationship soon fell apart and he recorded "I Just Wanna Love You (Give It 2 Me)." Soon, though, as Beyonce branched out from Destiny's Child, she began hanging around other stars. She became friends with Amil, an artist of Jay-Z's.

It was through Amil that Jay-Z and Beyonce officially met, around 1999. Perhaps due to her age, their relationship was kept quiet. Soon, each song Beyonce recorded would feature a subtle rap response from Jay when he worked with other artists. Jay-Z famously responded to the Destiny's Child hit "No No No." Rumors about Jay-Z and Beyonce hit a peak in 2001. At the time, Jay-Z was on top of the rap world and Beyonce was on top of her game. With all of his success, people wanted to know who he was sharing with.

However, one year later, Jay-Z and Beyonce began a string of collaborations and after they topped the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 2003, there was no question about their relationship. Soon, Jay-Z, the man who bragged about wearing baggy clothes to business meeting decided to button up. Now, most times when Jay-Z is spotted in the United States, he is wearing suits. Also, the man who bragged about sleeping with multiple women, now often talks about starting a family.

In 2008, Jay-Z did the unthinkable when he actually married Beyonce. Coming as a surprise to a lot of people, their marriage has been a success after two years. Jay-Z said the key to their success was the fact of their relationship being very private. Many other rappers have watched their relationships fail because the media got into it and broke them up. Some credit the downfall of Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez on the constant media attention and the Shyne incident.

Following her time with Donald Trump on NBC, Omarosa hit the big time in reality television. Soon, she found her way over to VH1 on their hit, "The Surreal Life." Quickly, Omarosa met her match with former model, Janice Dickinson. Dickinson used her feud with Omarosa to revive her career.

After making appearances on major talk shows across the nation, Omarosa would take a break from television. During this time off, she soaked in her fame. She had lost her husband right as her reality television career had taken off. It came a time when she had to decide what was more important.

In 2008, Omarosa decided television was more important and she returned to "The Apprentice." However, this time, she was a celebrity, as opposed to an average person trying to make it. Because of this, she was actually a part of "Celebrity Apprentice." On the new show, she lived up to the name of reality television's number one bad girl. It did not take long for Omarosa to find herself in yet another feud with a cast-mate. The show would soon fire Omarosa after the tenth episode.

Kobe Bryant starring in the NBA Finals yet again

For the past three years, the NBA seasons have ended the same way, with Kobe Bryant as the focal point. For the past six years, the Los Angeles Lakers have been Kobe Bryant's team. Following the departure of Shaquille O'Neal, the team struggled to win games. In 2005, the Lakers found themselves out of the playoffs.

After two first round exits in 2006 and 2007, the Lakers finally brought Kobe Bryant proper help. The trade for big man, Pau Gasol and the emergence of Andrew Bynum placed the Lakers on top of the West. In the 2008 playoffs, Kobe Bryant was free for the first time. He did not have to create every play.

With this stellar team around him, Bryant led his team through the Western Conference playoffs. Right into the NBA Finals, they ran into the Boston Celtics. The Celtics were stacked with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen. Despite how great Kobe was, he was not enough against three superstars. The Lakers fell to the Celtics, but the next season, they went on an inspired run and posted a better record than the Celtics.

However, injuries led to the Celtics falling to the Orlando Magic, who would end up facing the Lakers in the finals at the end of the season. In a reversal of what happened in 2008, Kobe Bryant improved his leadership skills and the Lakers would win the championship. This year, they have done what no team has been able to do since 2002 and made the NBA Finals three years in a row. If they win the championship, not only would they defeat the Celtics in the finals for the first time in twenty years, but they would also be the first team to repeat as champions since 2002.

The last team to accomplish the 2002 feats were the Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant-led Lakers. But, this time the focal point of the team is Kobe Bryant, as opposed to Shaq.
