Mashonda discusses her Single Life following Swizz Beatz divorce

In the eyes of many, Mashonda looked like the bitter ex in her high-profile divorce from Swizz Beatz. The producer almost made it seem as if she wanted him back. In 2009, Swizz Beatz and Mashonda ended their marriage of over ten years. Before the end of the year, Alicia Keys was pregnant with Swizzy's child.

Mashonda immediately began directing insults towards the new family. She went as far as accusing Alicia Keys of trying to take her children from her. Keys said she thought of Swizz Beatz' other children as her own children. Mashonda took this as Keys trying to take her family.

Nearly two years have passed since Mashonda and Swizz Beatz ended things. Mashonda has been trying to put her relationship with the Ruff Ryder in the past. She said she will be happy when she, Swizz Beatz, and Alicia Keys do not have to always be mentioned in the same conversation. Mashonda also made it clear she has options outside of Swizzy.

Recently, Mashonda covered KING magazine and she said she receives plenty of attention from groupies, both male and female. When speaking of her fans, Mashonda said she does not like to call them groupies because they appreciate her. She said she loves everyone, so when male groupies come on to her, she talks to them for a little while. Mashonda said "you never know" when asked if she could take things farther with a new man in her life.

Swizz Beatz talks Life after Mashonda

The past two years have been damaging for Swizz Beatz as his personal life has spilled into the media. For years, Swizzy was married to Mashonda. The couple share two small children together and were the picture of happiness. But, when the relationship fell apart, it truly fell apart.

Last year, Swizz Beatz began dating Alicia Keys and soon fell in love with her. A few months ago, Keys gave birth to Swizz' third child. The couple is happily married and raising their child, but Mashonda continues to cause drama. At one point, Swizz said he and Mashonda remain friends, but not anymore.

Swizz Beatz is not going to let negativity bring him down next year. When it comes to Mashonda, Swizz Beatz said that all bets are off the table. He is tired of dealing with her, as she gives him the most trouble out of all of his children's mothers. The friendship was over when Mashonda accused Keys of trying to make her son feel as if he was her son.

In 2011, Swizz Beatz will focus on trying to become a public person as he is the face of the new, much larger, Ruff Ryders' brand.

MaShonda Still Discusses Swizz Beats & Alicia Keys

Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, & MaShonda's situation is just so messy. I'll be relieved when she just let everything go, & move on. I'm not saying what Alicia Keys did was right, but you have to also think that If Swizz didn't want you anymore, so be It.

MaShonda, girl. If you don't just move on from this, and find you a new man. I'm just saying.

Anyways, MaShonda sat down with Vibe Magazine and had an in depth interview discussing Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys, and her new memoir "The Death of a Mermaid." You can check out the full interview here, but I decided I'll include an excerpt from the interview here.

You’ve mentioned in the past that Swizz repeatedly denied having an affair with Alicia. Did he ever fully come out and admit to it?
My husband admitted to having his affair on Mothers Day 2008, six months after I found out. I didn't sleep for a whole year. I had to take pills to sleep because I'd wake up in the middle of the night crying. I couldn't even look at my son some days because I didn't have the strength and I never wanted him to feel my bad energy. It was a battle. They are just now going public, but this has been going on for a very long time. I refused to really break it down for people to understand because there was no way I could go around not making [Swizz and Alicia] look extra crazy and I didn't want to put that out there for my son. I didn't want him to see his father as a monster. But the shit is deep.

What was the last thing you remember doing to keep the marriage in tact?

I did everything I could do, but I knew there was no working it out when he admitted his affair to me… he was happy about it. After lying about it for so long and finally admitting it I was like ‘I can't take it no more!’ In the back of my mind I was like, ‘I have to fight for my family, this is my son's father. We were supposed to grow old together, we were supposed to raise this baby together, we were supposed to do all these things, I'm fighting for my fucking husband. I don't care who he's dating, I don't care how much money she's got, I'm fighting for my husband.’ And then I realized… I can't fight for him… he doesn't want to be with me. I'm not going to win this one.

How do you fight for a husband?

I fought more for the family than I did for my husband. It wasn't ‘I love you, don't leave me.’ It was never that because that’s not even me. It was, ‘Let’s work it out for this baby. You can't leave. I can't be a single mom. Let’s go to counseling, we are a family.’

Did you ever get a response?

None… none.

Were these conversations mainly over the phone?

Phone. Person. He lived here for a long time after he left to go be with her. He was back and forth.

Did you guys sleep in the same bed?

No, I put him in a different room. I know my worth. I don't have to beg anybody to want to be with me. I wouldn't torture myself with that.
When was the last time you spoke to him?
We talk almost every day. We have a child so we have to.

Sounds a bit obligatory, are you guys trying to rebuild a friendship?

We're cool. I want to be the best we could be for our son. If my son wants us to hug, we'll give each other a hug. Whatever makes him happy, you know kids like to see that. And I don't hate [Swizz], there's nothing anybody can do to me to really make me hate him. Hate is such a terrible word. It's strong. I just don’t approve of what he did and how he did it.

In her new book, she even reveals her deepest secret, that she was raped by a music executive while trying to get a deal.

Alicia Keys puts her bachelorette pad up For Sale

Recently, Alicia Keys confirmed months of rumors about her pregnancy. For nearly a year, she has been dating Ruff Ryders' label owner, Swizz Beatz. The couple has been in the news because of the issues with Swizz Beatz' ex-wife, Mashonda. She was jealous of the relationship of Swizz and Alicia, so she caused legal trouble. Swizz Beatz also has children with Mashona, who is also a R&B singer.

Said to be in love for the first time, Swizz Beatz proposed to Alicia Keys soon after they got serious. Things would become more serious when she told him she was pregnant. Excited, the two decided to keep it a secret. But, still being around and promoting her music, Alicia Keys could not keep the secret. While feuding with Mashonda, a baby bump was spotted. Keys still remained silent.

But, Alicia Keys had to break her silence when she was asked if she were pregnant. She broke down and told the media and revealed herself to be engaged with Swizz Beatz. Quickly, he confirmed her story and the rumors became headline news. Because the couple is in the spotlight, people are not giving them much of a chance. The things Swizz Beatz says about Alicia Keys are the same things he said about Mashonda. They were not famous at the start of their relationship, but were when it ended. Despite starting a relationship with a similar woman, Swizz Beatz is confident things will be different.

Proving her love to the famed hip hop producer, Alicia Keys has put her $4 million New York home on the market. The property includes a main house and a pool house, but Swizz Beatz wants to move the family into a new home. Because of this, she has decided to sell her house, and possibly use the money for their upcoming wedding. It would be highly unlikely because it is not like either Alicia Keys are Swizz Beatz is struggling for money.

Swizz Beatz responds to Mashonda's lawsuit

May 2010 got off to a great start for Swizz Beatz as there were rumors of him expecting his first child with Alicia Keys. For the past few weeks, he and Keys have been dodging those rumors. Apparently upset at the shine of her ex-husband, Mashonda put herself back in the headlines. She is currently suing Swizz Beatz for $334,000 in missing funds.

Mashonda is wondering why her ex-husband cannot seem to pay her what she owes. Her defensive team points to the expensive gifts he often buys for Alicia Keys. The couple actually has plans to move into a $14.5 million penthouse in New York City. Mashonda said she did not want things to be like this, but Swizz Beatz needs to get his priorities in order.

Swizz Beatz argued he has more than paid Mashonda off. He recently told the media he paid her $700,000, upfront, $500,000 more than even the judge recommended he pay. Still, she has a problem with this and Swizz Beatz said Mashonda is very fortunate because most men in his position really would have left her hanging. Initially deciding to let Mashonda play her game, Swizz Beatz revealed exactly how upset he was over Mashonda publicizing their divorce.

He said Mashonda can afford anything she wants to buy. He pointed to Mashonda's new house, expensive cars, jewelry, and clothes. Swizz Beatz said she is living a very good life and he is the one footing the bill and instead of working on his upcoming projects, he has to fight with her. Swizz Beatz and Mashonda are due back in court next month.

Alicia Keys may be Pregnant

Last week, Hip Hop Weekly reported that Alicia Keys could possibly be pregnant. Keys has been with Swizz Beatz since 2008. Before his relationship with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz was married to Mashonda. However, soon after their divorce was finalized, Swizz Beatz began dating Alicia Keys. Last fall, Mashonda began a feud with Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz.

Mashonda said that Alicia Keys ruined her relationship with Swizz Beatz. Despite having marriage troubles with Swizz, Mashonda felt that her marriage could have been saved. But, with Alicia Keys forcing her way in, the marriage was beyond ruin. Not only did Mashonda accuse her of ruining her relationship, but also her career.

Even if Alicia Keys had taken everything away from Mashonda, one thing that could not be taken away was the fact that she had children with Swizz Beatz. Now, however, rumor has it that Alicia Keys may be carrying Swizz Beatz’ child. If that is truly the case, Keys is carrying the brother or sister to the children of Mashonda. That would mean that their feud would have to end.

Instead of exchanging barbs over the internet, Mashonda may find herself visiting Alicia Keys in the maternity ward to bring her children over to meet their new sibling.
