In 2007, Keyshia Cole released an anthem for the females, which has become a popular phrase, "Let it Go." The song was produced by Missy Elliott and featured rap verses from Elliott and Lil' Kim. "Let it Go" was a big hit for Keyshia Cole after most had written her off as a one hit wonder.

Aside from boosting Keyshia Cole into superstardom, the song also marked the return of Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim. Neither artist had released an album since 2005. Lil' Kim was working on her comeback album, which has yet to come. At the time, Lil' Kim and Keyshia Cole were becoming good friends.

Keyshia Cole went on to become a major star and took over the game with her next album. Meanwhile, Lil' Kim ended up leaving her longtime label, Atlantic Records. Nicki Minaj was on the mixtape circuit, quickly rising to emerge in the mainstream. Following her third album, Keyshia Cole took time off to build her family, during this time Nicki Minaj began dominating the radio waves.

Fast forward to 2010 and Lil' Kim has major issues with Nicki Minaj. Keyshia Cole is working on her own comeback attempt and she reaches out to Nicki Minaj for help. For months, Nicki Minaj remained silent while Lil' Kim dissed her repeatedly. But, before the end of 2010, Nicki Minaj began responding to her disses and hitting back with some of her own. Nicki Minaj decided to use her verse on Keyshia Cole's song to diss Lil' Kim.

Upon hearing the song, Lil' Kim said she and Mary J. Blige were going to team up to begin dissing both of the women. This diss never came and Keyshia Cole ignored the shots from Lil' Kim. Recently, the two got into it on Twitter. Lil' Kim questioned their friendship and Keyshia Cole said they did not have one outside of making music. She said she thanked her for working on her song, but she had absolutely nothing to do with the feud with Nicki Minaj.

This angered Lil' Kim and she said all bets are off with Keyshia Cole.

Recently, Lil' Kim was spotted in the Atlanta club scene alongside fellow entertainment villainess, Natalie Nunn. The two hit it off and have become good friends. Despite the new friendship, the two were not clubbing together when Lil' Kim visited Club Ritz in Atlanta.

Last month, Lil' Kim supposedly reached out to Nicki Minaj's team to settle their feud. After announcing a truce, Nicki Minaj released another diss song on Lil' Kim. For a little over a month, Lil' Kim has remained silent about their feud.

But, during her night out at Club Ritz, Lil' Kim made sure to have copies of her Black Friday mixtape on hand. While she did not say anything negative about Nicki, it was all implied. Aside from promoting her disc, Lil' Kim was simply having a good time.

Lil' Kim was the featured guest at the event.

Nicki Minaj addresses Diddy rumors

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Before her feud with Lil' Kim became headline news, Nicki Minaj was rumored to be dating Diddy. Ironically, before the rumors started, "Lil' Freak" by Usher was released to the radio. On the song, Nicki rapped of how she planned to take away Cassie from Diddy.

Not even days after the song's official release, many gossip sites had linked them as a couple. At the time, Nicki Minaj was spending a lot of time with Diddy. Rick Ross was also spending much time with the mogul. It was explained that Diddy was managing both artists.

However, many did not believe the story. They felt it was a cover for Diddy to spend time with Nicki. When Lil' Kim made her feud with Nicki Minaj public, she confronted Diddy for dating her. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, there were rumors that Diddy, then P. Diddy, had been dating Lil' Kim.

Recently, Nicki Minaj discussed the rumors about Diddy. She said she grew up looking up to Diddy and has modeled herself after him, in a way. Because of this, Nicki Minaj could never date him. For anyone who thinks they are dating, Nicki Minaj says they are sick. The idea of her dating a man she has spent most of her life looking up to is sick to her. Nicki Minaj said she looks at Diddy like a Russell Simmons figure, not someone she would "get it poppin" with.

Keyshia Cole fires manager over Low Record Sales

Years of hardwork paid off for Keyshia Cole when her career took off in 2005. She went from being unknown to being one of the top new female voices in R&B. At a time when such artists as Ashanti were struggling for hits, Keyshia Cole filled the void.

By 2008, many were calling Keyshia Cole the second coming of Mary J. Blige. While Cole denied those comparions, she was definitely the hottest female in the game. She had everything she could ever want, including a man.

Keyshia Cole was dating Daniel Gibson, of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who happeend to be the NBA's best team. Soon, she became pregnant with Gibson's child. It was then that Cole decided to take some time off.

Last March, Keyshia Cole had her child and focused on building her new family. Towards the end of 2010, she decided to re-enter the game. Keyshia Cole teamed up with Nicki Minaj for the anthem, "I Ain't Thru." In only a matter of months, Nicki Minaj had become the hottest rapper in the game. She had already helped many big-name artists make hit records and Cole thought she could do the same for her.

Instead of getting a hit, Keyshia Cole found herself in the middle of Lil' Kim's feud with Nicki. Kim, her guest on 2007's "Let It Go," was prepared to diss Keyshia Cole for her involvement with Minaj. Despite all the press, the single did not even chart. The label had advised Keyshia Cole to go with a different lead single, but she demanded "I Ain't Thru" be the lead single.

Her fourth album, Calling all Hearts, was a complete flop. In her career, Keyshia Cole had never scored lower than platinum on any of her albums. She will be lucky if her latest release even sells 500,000 copies within a year. With her career seemingly falling apart, Cole has fired her longtime manager, Manny Halley, stating he was unwilling to change his approach to marketing her.

Lil' Kim recruits Mary J. Blige to diss Nicki Minaj and Keyshia Cole

Long before Nicki Minaj entered the spotlight, the game was very different. The rising female in the game was Keyshia Cole. She was receiving comparisons to Mary J. Blige. Cole was also gaining credibility.

In 2007, on her second album, Keyshia Cole teamed up with Lil' Kim and Missy Elloitt. The three women created the female anthem, "Let It Go." The song would go on to be a major hit for Cole, who was close to being considered a one hit woner. Lil' Kim praised Keyshia Cole and her talents.

Nearly four years later, Lil' Kim is singing an entirely different song. Keyshia Cole has since gone off and had a child and is now working on her comeback. Lil' Kim is no longer the queen bee of the rap game. That title has been passed along to Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim is not very happy about it. Ever since Nicki Minaj began making hit singles, Lil' Kim has been releasing diss records. Recently, Nicki Minaj began responding to the records and still teaming up with stars. Her most recent collaboration was with Keyshia Cole.

After Nicki Minaj's collaboration with Keyshia Cole, fans have compared them to a new version of the duo that Lil' Kim and Mary J. Blige had formed over a decade ago. While Lil' Kim had love for Keyshia Cole before, she does not anymore. She is accusing Keyshia Cole of trying to replace Mary J. Blige and, of course, Nicki Minaj of trying to replace her. Recently, Lil' Kim went on stage at a recent concert and she called both of them out for their actions.

Lil' Kim said she and Mary J. Blige are tired of both of them and might put together a new diss. Kim said she is willing to work with Nicki Minaj and with Cole, again, but they will not be taking anything. She said she has no time for games in 2011. After her onstage rant, Lil' Kim's representative released a statement dening a diss record with Lil' Kim and Mary J. Blige. The statement says no new diss record will be released.

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Diss Record

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

By Tirrell Hill

It seems as if now and days, rappers find beefing with each other entertaining to the public eye when it's not. If you're both in the music industry, you should try helping each other rather then trying to put each other down with subliminal remarks, and diss records.

Female Rapper Nicki Minaj, sits down with Vibe Magazine and explains how she handles a diss.

"My diss record is my success rate, and how much I can change to be somewhere for 30 minutes. That's my diss record. The fact that I can pay your mortgage for a year in 30 minutes. That's my diss record. That diss record makes everyone go "Oooooh word, Nicki went in!" That's all I need.
Yeah, she told us. One of the best quotes I've heard from any rapper focusing on that main topic.

Nicki Minaj recently shot the video for her single "Your Love" which is currently #1 on Billboards' Rap Chart. She tells MTV, that she wasn't even planning to put the song out. I guess It was a good cause, because a female rapper hasn't had a #1 solo record in over 8 years. The last female rapper to have a #1 solo, was Missy Elliot with "Work It."

Lil' Kim comes under fire for Nicki Minaj feud

Saturday, June 19, 2010

It is no longer news about the way veteran femcee, Lil' Kim, feels about newcomer Nicki Minaj. With the female rap game in shambles, Nicki Minaj saved it. Now, the rappers of Lil Kim's generation are a distant memory. Along the way, Minaj has incorporated Kim's style into her own. Lil' Kim says all she wants is homage.

But, because of the way she has gone about asking Nicki Minaj for respect, Drake said she does not deserve it. Growing up a fan of Lil' Kim, Drake has lost all respect for her. In response to him, his former role model, Lil' Kim, called him a little pussy. She also had a lot of respect for him. Nicki Minaj refused to use any of her fire to light Lil' Kim's candle.

Even her longtime friend, Jadakiss, said she was taking things too far with Nicki Minaj. After explaining herself, Kim said she had problems with her for over a year. Jadakiss feels she is corny for bringing it up a year later. It comes off as Lil' Kim wanting attention by going against a star. Jadakiss thinks if the beef was real, she would have addressed it right then, instead of waiting until Nicki Minaj became famous to take her on.

Dissed by one friend, another in Ja Rule said Lil' Kim was completely wrong for dissing the up-and-coming female rapper. He said Lil' Kim is out here embarassing herself and for no reason. There is no real beef there and Ja Rule feels it can be ended in a quiet manner. At this stage in her career, Rule feels she is a little too old to worry about petty feuds. After all, he was in a similar situation to Lil' Kim when he first addressed his feud with 50 Cent and look at him now. Without a doubt, Ja Rule wishes he had handled things differently because he may still have been on top. He does not want the same thing to happen to one of his friends he entered the game with.

Drake afraid to diss Ray J?

Monday, June 14, 2010

The feud going on between Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj has spread outside of the hip hop community. The feud has spread outside of those two rappers. This feud is currently headline news on regular news sites and others are involved. However, one participant never mentioned is Ray J, who actually said Nicki Minaj should pay homage to Lil' Kim.

Ray J quickly sided with Lil' Kim when she made it known she had issues with Nicki Minaj. He said Nicki needs to go ahead and let the people know where she came from. Upon discovering Ray's comments, Lil' Kim agreed and repeated what was said. Drake quickly stepped up to defend his label-mate. He said Lil' Kim really needs to calm down.

Drake said he used to have a lot of respect for Lil' Kim, but it had changed because of her actions. Because of how she was acting, he said she did not deserve the homage. Like Drake, Lil' Kim also had a lot of respect for Drake. But, after he called her out the way he did, Lil' Kim referred to him as a punk. The comments came from Ray J.

Lil' Kim feels the only reason the non-confrontational Drake decided to diss her was because she was a woman. She said it looks bad on any man who engages in a public feud with a woman. If he had a real issue with her, a man would speak with a woman in private. But, Lil' Kim said he should not be upset with her over the comments about paying homage. Instead, he should be channeling this energy over to Ray J. By the way things are looking, Drake is not going to respond to Ray J.

Some assumed Drake would address Ray J once he discovered he was the one who actually made the statement about paying homage. However, Drake said the issue has nothing to do with Ray J. Drake said he cannot be upset for the man voicing his opinion on the feud. But, Lil' Kim argues she was only voicing her opinion, too. Somewhere, Drake sees a difference and it has kept Ray J from being brought into the feud. In the past, Ray J has been known to stand up for himself in the middle of feuds.

Perhaps Drake is looking to avoid the same fate as Marques Houston, Omarion, and Flo Rida.
