Erykah Badu gives advice to Chelsea Handler about Black Men

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Last month, Chelsea Handler revealed that she had been romantically pursued by 50 Cent. At the time, she was in a relationship, so she turned the mogul down. But, now as a single lady, she offered herself to 50 Cent. However, 50 Cent is now only interested in protecting his money and causally dating. He is not looking for a woman.

This has not stopped Chelsea Handler in her quest to find a new man. It appears as if her taste has changed. Much like fellow E! stars, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Handler wants a black man. One person with experience with black men is Erykah Badu. Not only has she had the black men, but she has had the rappers. With Chelsea Handler trying to get with a few rappers, she is competition.

Recently, Erykah Badu discussed her new "Window Seat" song on "Chelsea Lately." The conversation shifted to her possible relationship with 50 Cent. In a nice manner, Badu told Handler to back off of the black men. It is bad enough that the regular black men are being crossed over. While Erykah Badu did not say that directly, it was definitely implied. Still, there is no word on her current status with 50 Cent.

Ryan Leslie talks Erykah Badu and her "Window Seat"

Two years since her last release, Erykah Badu planned to make a bang when she returned. Because of her style, Badu has always turned heads. Despite being a veteran in the game, she is still turning heads. However, it had little to nothing to do with her music. Instead, it was her curves that has the people talking.

In her most-recent video, Erykah Badu decided to go nude. Paying attention to the lyrics of the song, she was not stripping to simply strip. She is discussing the many issues of the world. The place where she begins to move her clothes is the same place where President Kennedy was assassinated.

At the end of the video, a completely nude Badu is also murdered in the same spot as Kennedy. Immediately after the video was released to the public, it caused controversy. There have been plenty of people who spoke on the situation. Some police officers planned to arrest her for indecent exposure.

After the outcry because of her nudity, Erykah Badu went on the record to defend herself. She let it be known that she did not strip in order to build buzz. Instead, she was raising awareness. Listening to the lyrics of the song proves that was all that she was doing. Still, that does not change the fact that Erykah Badu was publicly nude. The first person from the hip hop community to speak on her recent activities was Ryan Leslie. He said that the move that she made was a risky artistic move.

In an effort to avoid controversy, Ryan Leslie feels that Erykah Badu should open up about her inspiration for the video. The chances of her actually being arrested for going nude in public are slim-to-none. Before she went out onto the street, Badu did ask for permission. Despite her going out and asking for permission to film her risky video, the controversy does not end. Ryan Leslie feels that if she were to go out and actually speak on what inspired her to do this video that some of the controversy would fade away.
